You meet the Shade and the Urgals, then the Elves in the prologue. The Shade and Urgals are waiting for the Elves to take the egg the female Elf, Arya, is carrying. When Arya manages to send the egg away, the Shade captures her.

2. What mountain range is Eragon hunting in?

Answer: The Spine

Only the Spine and the Beor Mountains are mountain ranges. The others are cities. Eragon is hunting there so he can get meat for his family. However, the egg appears in front of him, scaring away a doe he was about to shoot.

3. What is the name of Eragon's uncle?

Answer: Garrow

Brom is the storyteller, Sloan is the butcher, and Horst is the blacksmith. Garrow has raised Eragon since he was born. He was the brother to Eragon's mother and is killed by the Ra'zac.
