Answer: Houston Astros

The Astros had 2 DH home runs also. They had 5 players hit 20 or more home runs, with Jeff Bagwell leading the team with 47. The Astros still only finished in 4th place.
2. I was a rookie in 1994. In my 10th season, I became the youngest player to hit 300 home runs in history. In 2001 and 2002, I combined for 109 home runs. I also played shortstop in 2003. Who am I?

Answer: Alex Rodriguez

A-Rod smacked #300 in the first week of the 2003 season. This Texas Ranger picked up where he left off in 2002, when he hit 57. He was runner-up for the MVP in 2002 also, losing to Miguel Tejada of the Athletics.

Answer: Troy Glaus

Glaus was the only one listed, who played in the 2002 World Series. He batted .385 against the San Francisco Giants, and smacked 3 home runs in the Series. The Angels beat the Giants 4 games to 3.

Answer: Bert Blyleven

This Minnesota Twin went 17-14 in the season. Ironically, although allowing 50 home runs, Blyleven still struck out 215 batters. The other pitchers listed, retired before 1973.
8. Who was the first batter in history, to get 6 hits off 6 different pitchers, in one game in 1964?

Answer: Jesus Alou

This San Francisco Giant did this in July 1964. The unfortunate Cubs' pitchers to get their name in the record books were; Dick Ellsworth, Lew Burdette, Don Elston, Dick Scott, Wayne Schurr, and Lindy McDaniel. Alou batted .274 that season. The others listed were all pitchers in the American League.

Answer: Gaylord Perry

Perry played for 8 different teams, and retired at the age of 44 in 1983. He won an American League Cy Young Award in 1972, in his first season with the Indians after being traded from the Giants. He won the National League Cy Young Award in 1978 with the Padres, one season after being traded from Texas. Parker was a full time Dodger, Banks with the Cubs, and DiMaggio with the Yankees.
10. The New York Yankees won 5 consecutive World Series from 1949-1953. What team did they defeat 3 times in that streak?

Answer: Brooklyn Dodgers

The Dodgers lost the '49, '52, and '53 World Series to the star-studded Yankees. The Yankees were rostered with Berra, Rizzuto, Mantle, DiMaggio, Gil McDougald, and Johnny Mize. The other teams were all American League teams, and could not have played the Yankees in a World Series.
