Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who did Sayid, Jack and Sawyer find on a white boat at the beginning of the episode?

Answer: Desmond Hume

The episode picked up where the last one did since the survivors saw a white boat out in the ocean and they believed that meant they had been rescued. We heard Sayid say it was possible some of The Others were on the boat. Jack, Sawyer and Sayid all swam out to the boat and saw that Desmond Hume was on it.
2. Who told many of the survivors, during the opening credits, he/she would be right back and to wait a second?

Answer: Kate Austen

The opening credits rolled and we saw Kate telling a bunch of survivors to just wait a second and she would be right back to assist them. Kate told Jack everyone needed to know what was happening. Jack told her to tell everyone that Desmond was on the boat and he was back. He also informed her he would find out the rest and then he went to go speak to Desmond.
3. During the opening credits, who did Jack ask why he came back?

Answer: Desmond Hume

Jack spoke to Desmond and told him that it appeared as if he did not inform everyone before he last ran off that he had a sailboat. Jack asked Desmond why he came back and he said he was sailing for two and a half weeks and he was supposed to locate Fiji but he did not. He said the island he found instead of Fiji was the island where they were all stranded.
4. In a flashback, who was seen being released from prison?

Answer: Desmond Hume

We saw a flashback that involved Desmond being released from prison since he got some items back from a prison official. Some of the items he got back were a watch, a picture, and a copy of the Charles Dickens novel, "Our Mutual Friend." The prison official asked him why he did not bring the novel into the prison with him and Desmond said it was due to temptation since he had read all of Dickens' novels except for "Our Mutual Friend."
5. Sayid was speaking to Jack and told him how who had been compromised by The Others?

Answer: Michael Dawson

Near the beginning of the first hour of the episode, Sayid spoke to Jack about Michael and reminded him about how Michael had been compromised by The Others. Sayid also reminded Jack about how he asked him how they could take advantage of that so then Sayid mentioned Desmond's sailboat. Sayid said Jack could go to the camp and then he, as in Sayid, would be in the sailboat to do battle with The Others.
6. John Locke told whom that he was thinking about how the computer would start beeping?

Answer: Mr. Eko

Locke went to the hatch and saw Mr. Eko there and Mr. Eko asked him where he had been. Locke said he had been thinking about how the computer would start beeping soon and warn them to reset the hatch timer. Locke also said how he believed Mr. Eko would let it go on beeping and run down to zero. Mr. Eko assured him that he would press the button.
7. Who told Jack not to give him a gun since it would mean he would kill someone?

Answer: Hugo "Hurley" Reyes

Midway through the first hour of the episode, Jack was down at the beach and he gave Michael a gun so he could fight with The Others. Kate, Sawyer and Hurley were also there and he handed Hurley a gun but he refused to take it, saying him having a gun would mean he would kill someone. Sawyer told Hurley that was the point but Hurley said he believed the point was to get Walt back.
8. Sayid asked whom if he could use his boat?

Answer: Desmond Hume

There was a scene where Desmond was down by the beach and he was bringing in a raft. Sayid rushed down and told Desmond he needed his boat but Desmond told him how there was nothing out there. Sayid told him he was not going out there but he wanted to go to the north shore of the island. Desmond told Sayid he could use his boat.
9. In a flashback, who was seen at a coffee shop?

Answer: Desmond Hume

There was a flashback midway through the first hour where Desmond was seen at a coffee shop and he asked the clerk to get him whichever drink had the most caffeine in it. Desmond got his wallet and realized that he did not have much cash on him since he spent a lot of it on a taxi. A woman stepped in and paid for Desmond's drink and we saw that the woman was Libby.
10. Who found Locke crying?

Answer: Charlie Pace
