After his title was taken from him he had a lot of grudges. He thought the universe owed him so he travelled from planet to planet in search of this debt.

Answer: A better gun and unlimited money

Mordecai thought the universe screwed him out of his title so badly that he wanted unlimited money. As the Vault on Pandora is said to have unlimited money it is only logical that this is where he searches for his riches.

Answer: When he was 17 and won a sharpshooting competition with a revolver

He won against an armada of snipers with a mere revolver. The other contenders thought he had cheated and got him disqualified. This is the title he believes the universe owes him for.

Although Mordecai calls his pet Bloodwing in has never been confirmed whether it was the name he chose for it, or the name of its species. It is rumoured the Mordecai can actually communicate so well with his pet that they have had conversation in the past.

Marcus Kancaid says this to Mordecai at the start of the game when they are all on the bus. This is right at the start of the game and sets the humorous tone for the rest of the game.

This was a clear dig at the fact that Mordecai is very skinny. It also shows that 2K put a lot of time into making the tiniest of details (like setting up a real Twitter account for the characters), in turn showing they're care and dedication towards the fans.
