Subject: Track listings on albums

Posted by: sectant
Date: Mar 24 18

I'll give you the first track, you guys complete the entire album. We'll start with side one, track one of Physical Graffitti by Led Zeppelin. No looking up info on the Net! You have to know the album well. Of course, I can't police this, but I'm sure you'll do the right thing. First track is Custard Pie.

Okay, we could try... Aqualung? Jethro Tull. If we don't know all of them, in order, tell me and I'll think of something else. I think we can do this one, though. And everyone else could leap in, too, right?

First song is...

Aqualung

Aqualung is fine, Aqualung is great, I bought the remastered CD version with mega size liner notes last year!!

Cross Eyed Mary, track two.

Anyone can join in but nobody ever does!

You're going to kill me on this one, I just know it. Maybe others will join in? But if they don't, we'll have it all for ourselves, so the slaughter won't be so noticeable.

Um.... Okay, my fingers are crossed. I think I can do this one, all the way through. I think I can, I think I can...

Hey Elle.
Do you have a copy of the album? Look at the track listings if you get stuck. It's not the same as looking up info on the Net, because at least you know the album and like the band.

Mother Goose
P.S. This album is the subject of one of my questions in one of the Music quizzes I created.

Wondr'ring Aloud

Oh, do I ever. I have it on CD and vinyl. I love vinyl! I think I can do all of this one from memory, but if I get stuck... my CDs and albums are still packed! But I know this album like the back of my hand, so I think I can do it, especially if I keep singing it over and over, in order.

I didn't see a quiz on this topic! I'll go look again, though.

It's only a single question I asked on my Musical Miscellany quiz. It's a quiz covering different genres of music.

Up To Me is next, last track on side one. I love that weird laugh on this track.

"My God"

I don't think I've ever seen a single Jethro Tull question come up in any quiz. Not that I recall.

My quiz is titled A Musical Miscellany. Tull is in there.

"Slipstream"

I love all songs with "slipstream" in the lyrics. Van Morrison sings about the "slipstream" a lot.

I'll go check out your quiz!

And that's it for Aqualung.

Okay then, next album...it will have to be a well known one so I guess Abbey Road is a good candidate.

Come Together.

I thought we had more on Aqualung! Now I'm so confused...

Moving on to --

No I'm pretty sure that's it. Wind Up winds it up.

Umm...Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Still not sure if this is a good song or a silly song.

Oh! Darling

You know, this is on my list of Perfect Albums, but now you've got me questioning "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." It really is pretty whacked. The next one up is fairly bizarre, too, but everything else on this album is pure gold. Except for another weird one coming up...

But it even has a lullaby. How can you go wrong with a lullaby? I sing a little mash up of the lullaby on this album with what I consider a lullaby on "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" to my little nieces. I'd tell you what it is, but I think we should to that album next.

Now I have to listen to this all the way through to decide if it stays on my very own Perfect Album list. I think it will stay, because even the whacky songs have clever lyrics.

Next up is Octopus's Garden which at least is better than Yellow Submarine.

(Not today it doesnt, grey skies, a bit of drizzle, summer has finally decided to go on holiday after months and months of far too hot weather!)
