Subject: Track listings on albums

I'll give you the first track, you guys complete the entire album. We'll start with side one, track one of Physical Graffitti by Led Zeppelin. No looking up info on the Net! You have to know the album well. Of course, I can't police this, but I'm sure you'll do the right thing. First track is Custard Pie.

Not sure, probably because global warming is getting worse.

Oh I see what you mean...
Umm...it's the first song of the medley, You Never Give Me Your Money.

(I do like "Mean Mr. Mustard," but this next one...)

"You could say that she's attractively built..."

Right at the end of that track, just before it segues into 'She Came In Through The Bathroom Window', I could swear John Lennon says G'day, which is a classic Aussie greeting. Or maybe it just sounds like he says it.

See above for next album track.

I think you're right about "G'day."

"She Came In Through The Bathroom Window" -- I like Joe Cocker's cover of this better than the original.

And next we have:

"Golden Slumbers"

... the lullaby I sing, mashed up with "Harmony" from "Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road" to my little nieces to sing them to sleep. Sometimes over and over and over and over.

(Speaking of mashups, have I ever mentioned what I hear, consistently, whenever I've been forced to spend 45 minutes trapped inside an MRI machine? I want to know if anyone else has ever heard this, because I absolutely do, under all the thumping.)

What is it you hear Elle?

Carry That Weight follows but is that a separate song or part of Golden Slumbers?

"The End"

I think "Carry That Weight" is separate. I never include it with "Golden Slumbers" when I sing it to sleepy nieces.

I hear Beethoven's "Ode To Joy" overlayed with Led Zep's "Stairway To Heaven." It's happened three times, in three separate MRI machines, and I hear both songs very clearly. "Ode To Joy" is fast; "Stairway To Heaven" is also fast, to keep up with "Ode To Joy."

It's 45 minutes in an older MRI machine of both songs, replaying the entire time.

I've pulled both up on Youtube, and sung along with the other song to see if they mash up as well as I think they do, and as well as my brain is certain they do, and they mix perfectly. Try it!

That is too freaky. I mean, Ode To Joy on its own would be enough to blow my mind if I was ever in one of those things. Actually, the entire Symphony would make me want to stay in there. You'd never get anything as sublimely relaxing and stress free and peaceful as the 3rd movement.

That little snippet at the end, Her Majesty, completes Abbey Road.

Your turn to pick an album.

Let's do Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road."

First song is:

"Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding"

Excellent choice because it's the only Elton John album I occasionally listen to despite the next track being totally ruined by the Lady Di tribute version...Candle In The Wind.

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

I love the design of this album and the colours and pics and photos in the lyric section.

(The picture above the lyrics is neither grey or a seal!)

"Jamaica Jerk Off"

(And I'm glad the next one's yours, because I have no clue what it is...)

Probably because it's not quite as good as most of the other songs.
