My favorite actor is Sidney Poitier. I have read his biography "Measure of a Man," which tells of his family's arrival in Florida and how he tried to obtain acting roles, but was told that he needed to learn how to speak first. Poitier is probably best remembered for portraying Mark Thackerary in "To Sir, With Love." Everytime this movie is on I watch it. Sidney is mesmerizing as Thackerary and how he teaches his students, even though they make his life hell on wheels, and how he finally wins their approval and friendship. It also shows how he teaches them to love their selves and to respect each other and how anything and everything in life can be yours if you try and want it bad enough.

My favourite actor is Orlando Bloom because he is a wicked actor and my favourite actoress is Liv Tyler because she plays really well in lord of the rings as Arwen and in many more films that i can't remember. Thank you "philsgirl" for saying just what I was going to say. I'm not saying that Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp and even Lindsey Lohan are not great actors, which they are, I have nothing against them. But it seems that people are only going for the young pretty faces nowadays, and aren't even noticing the talented people who can really act. Now, I am 15 so of course I am going to like the Orlando blooms of the world, but that shouldn't be the focus of movies. fave actresses are Keria Knightley- she was in a soccer movie, a pirate movie, and a King arthur movie those are all things i enjoy plus she is very pretty. My favorite actresses are: Elisabeth Shue because she shows an underlying toughness, but you can sense a certain amount of vulnerability. My favorite film of hers is "Leaving Las Vegas". Michelle Pfeiffer just because she's one of the best in the world, she knows it, and acts like it. Probably unapproachable. Been a fan since "The Fabulous Baker Boys". Nastassja Kinski because she's so demure. I love her look, her voice, and, for me, when she's on the screen, there's nobody else present. Favorite film of hers is "Tess". My favorite actors are: Morgan Freeman because he's such a natural in front of the camera. Very talented. Favorite film of his "The Shawshank Redemption". Jeff Bridges because he wears his heart on his sleeve. My favorite of his is "Fabulous Baker Boys". Nicolas Cage because he's not afraid of taking on any role.
