Tales of Symphonia (GCN)
Kuchinawa. When Kuchinawa steals your item in the Lezareno company Headquarters, he challenges you to a fight on the Isle near Mizuho. Speak with Orochi in the village to fight him.
Kratos. Near the end of the game, Yuan reveals that Kratos is actually Lloyd's dad. I find it weird because if you check Kratos's status his last name is Aurion while Lloyd's is Irving.
Alicia. Regal was sent to prison for his crime of killing Alicia. Alicia was turned into an Exbelua by the Exsphere broker, Vharley.
Rodyle. Rodyle transforms himself into a monster with a Cruxis Crystal when you are about to fight him. Kvar is the second Grand Cardinal you face and Magnius is the red haired one. Forcystus is the first Grand Cardinal you meet but the second to last one you kill.
What is the name of the flail swinging Renegade that you must face at the Martel Temple? | Tales of Symphonia
|
Vidarr. At the Martel Temple when you face Vidarr it is a very easy fight, you just lay a combo, guard and then when he's finished his attack, and lay down another combo.
His Cruxis Crystal stopped the aging process. As long as he has the Cruxis Crystal, he will stay forever young. In the beginning of the adventure, he keeps his Crystal concealed so that Lloyd and the others don't become suspicious. He only reveals his Cruxis Crystal in the Tower of Salvation when he reveals that he is an angel of Cruxis.
Tomatoes. Yes, Kratos hates tomatoes. He can become a great chef if used properly, but if you notice, he can only get up to two stars on any recipe using tomatoes. A funny quote says that he would rather eat grass than eat tomato soup (found off of a website).
Zelos. Kratos of Greek mythology had three siblings: Nike, Bia, and Zelos. Ironically, in "Tales of Symphonia", Zelos and Kratos will both learn identical techs and fight in the same manner. It is up to the player to decide which character to keep with them. Personally, I prefer Kratos, since I find his background fascinating (hence why this character quiz is about him instead of Zelos).
What Lloyd says to Zelos upon leaving Flanoir. Zelos will leave with the doctor whether you want him to or not. I've had his affection as high as it will go, and he'll still leave. Kratos will warn Lloyd about "someone's" intentions in the skit point outside of Flanoir, but he never mentions who (Lloyd assumes he's talking about himself). Fighting Zelos in the Tower of Salvation is the final indicator, but not the first one. If Zelos is going to fight you in the Tower of Salvation, then after leaving Flanoir after the cutscene with the character you chose, Lloyd will ask Zelos if they can really trust him, and Zelos replies that he responds to other people's trust. The conversation is different if Kratos will not join you. The second indication is in the Tower of Salvation. If Kratos is going to join you, then Zelos will complain about how Lloyd never trusted him in the first place and he will not leave with Pronyma and Colette. If he does leave and you fight the Gatekeeper, then Zelos will stay with you.
Judgment . The strongest Angel Skill in the game, this technique is best used against multiple enemies. Unfortunately, it takes Kratos an insanely long time to cast it, even with the EX Skill "Speed Cast", so he's better off with other techniques. The incantation for this is "Sacred Powers, cast your purifying light upon these corrupt souls. Rest in Peace, Sinners! Judgment!". Note that this incantation is different from Colette's when she casts Judgment. If you have the EX Skill "Concentration", then Kratos should have no problem casting Judgment. An interesting thing to note is that Zelos will use Judgment against you if you fight him at the Tower of Salvation. However, if Zelos stays with you instead of Kratos, he will not learn Judgment. Only Kratos and Colette can use it when they're in your party.
Blue-Green. One of the Four Seraphim that head the organization of Cruxis, Kratos rarely shows his wings. They are a blue-greenish color, and about the size of Colette's wings. He reveals them only a few times, such as when revealing his true intentions to Lloyd and the others, and when helping Lloyd storm the Iselia Ranch. The fact that he doesn't use his wings as often as Colette hints that he may be ashamed of his angelic status.
Father. Ironically, in the Triet Desert after Colette breaks the Fire Seal, if you talk to Kratos, he will ask Lloyd how he came to be raised by a dwarf. When Lloyd explains that his mother was killed by Desians, Kratos comments that Lloyd's father is probably also dead. Whether he meant this metaphorically or was trying to suppress any suspicion about his relation to Lloyd is a mystery. In actuality, Kratos knew that Lloyd was his son since he saw his wife's grave in the back of Dirk's house. He didn't tell Lloyd until Yuan forced his hand.
380. Out of a total score of 400, Kratos scores in third place with 380. Raine gets a perfect 400, Genis gets 398, Colette gets 360, and Lloyd gets 25 (no, that is not a typo). At times, Genis will get a perfect 400 and Raine will drop her score, but Kratos' score, as well as Colette's and Lloyd's, remains constant.
Flanoir. In this interesting skit point, Lloyd encounters Kratos when he's gazing up at the sky. Not satisfied when Kratos says that skywatching is all he's doing, Lloyd tells Kratos that he's lying. Kratos replies: "Would you prefer if I said I was scheming how to destroy those who got in Lord Yggdrasill's way?".
Yuan. After being severely wounded by Lloyd, Kratos would've surely lost his life after breaking Origin's seal. Fortunately, Yuan steps in and gives Kratos some of his own mana.
Judgment. Though the title gives him no bonuses, it gives him the white outfit seen during your second battle against him. Aside from the fact that it makes him look cool, this title is basically useless. You get this title automatically after the scene in Dirk's house.
Grave. Be wary of this attack, as it'll do a lot of damage. Kratos won't waste time on Judgment, since it takes too long to cast and works better against more than one enemy. Your best bet is to interrupt his spell with a technique such as Raining Tiger Blade or Sonic Sword Rain against him. Keep moving if he goes into Overlimit, because his spells can't be disrupted. Make sure you're behind him or defending when he uses Victory Light Spear, and he'll be very vulnerable after executing the attack. Another spell he uses often is Air Thrust, but he'll only use that if you're keeping your distance from him.
Flamberge. This fiery, jagged-edged blade is the one Kratos uses against Lloyd in their second and third fight. In Dirk's house, Kratos gifts him with this blade. Together with the Dirk's Vorpal Sword, they make up the Material Sword; a powerful weapon for Lloyd. The only weapons stronger than this are the Paper Fan (which reduces Lloyd's Thrust power), the Nebilim (one of the Devil's Arms, which is powered up by every monster you kill), and the Kusanagi Blade (obtained from the third fight against the Sword Dancer).
Latheon Gorge. Monster #247 is Plantix, the boss of Latheon Gorge. This monster is very powerful, but can't maneuver much. It had 36,000 HP and a powerful attack where it sends insects out at you. Sometimes, you're safe when you stay close to Plantix, but not always. Your spellcasters are not safe against this monster, so they should have Speed Cast and cast Ice or Fire magic.
The first time you fight Sheena, she uses the Guardian: Wind. The second time, she uses Guardian: Lightning. The third time she uses a Guardian, it is not while fighting against your party. Judging by the color of the Guardian, what type is it? | "Tales of Symphonia" Monsters
|
Earth. The color of this monster is brown, which is the color of Earth in this game. Fire is red, Light is gold, Darkness is black, Lightning is purple, Wind is green, Earth is brown, Water is blue, and Ice is white. These colors generally only have to do with elemental things, such as magic spells. The color of the circle below the spellcaster shows the element of the spell.
Light. Found in the Tower of Mana, Iubaris is a large winged horse with a mace-like tail. Since it appears near the Seal of Light, it is a Light-attribute monster. Later on, you visit this same place to fight Luna and Aska.
Up until #179 in the Monster List, how many Large monsters are there, not including ones in Forbidden Anemnesis? (Note: "Large" monsters appear in the "large group" encounters and fight alone. One of your characters will mention something about it being big.) | "Tales of Symphonia" Monsters
|
9. They are: Insect Plant, Carnivorous Plant, Sand Worm, Sliver, Wyvern, Drake, Dragon, Gold Dragon, and Dark Dragon. Although the Lobo, Sewer Rat (4800 HP version), Perfect Murder, and Dragon Knight are fairly big, they do not always fight you alone and are not considered Large.
How many "rare" monsters are there? (Note: Rare monsters are ones that appear very occasionally in the "large group" encounters and only in one certain area) | "Tales of Symphonia" Monsters
|
4. Although the Insect Plant near Palmacosta is hard to find, it's not a "rare" monster. The four rare monsters are the Gentleman (found in the grass area around Altamira), Sliver (found around Flanoir), Mermaid (found in the beach around Altamira), and the Drake (found near one of the entrances to Gaoracchia Forest).
630. Very rare, appearing in the "large groups" seen near one of the entrances to Gaoracchia Forest, the Drake is a fairly powerful Dragon-type monster. However, it's easy to destroy since it takes too much time to recover after Lloyd's standard combo. The best place to be while fighting this monster is beneath it, since its damaging breath can't hit you from that angle.
Marcroid. This large mushroom has only 200 TP, but uses it to poison. It is #3 in the Monster List. The #2 Orcrot has no TP, and the 100 TP Airaune and 150 TP Boxer Iris are #8 and #15, respectively.
Guard Arm. Fortunately, the Guard Arm is scanned automatically. To destroy the Defense System, focus your sights ON the Defense System, ignoring the rest of the parts (except maybe the Orbit, which can get annoying). Remember that the Auto Repair Unit lives up to its name and will repair whatever you destroy (except the Defense System).
When fighting Farah Oersted, Garr, and Meredy in the Meltokio Arena, which one should you kill first if you want to stop their magic? | "Tales of Symphonia" Monsters
|
Meredy. Meredy has the least amount of HP, but is very quick at casting. She also doesn't flinch easily. Still, despite her spells, I would suggest taking Farah down first. The reason for this is that her attacks are swift, powerful, and hit you from behind. Next, you should go after Garr, who is their long-range attacker (but he also has a sword for close-range fighting). Some people prefer taking him down first, since he uses the items. I would suggest taking Farah down first, then hurridly taking down Garr before he can use a Life Bottle. This battle is almost impossible without first defeating Abyssion and using the Devil's Arms.
Vinhelm. There are three different Dragons of the large, near-flightless variety. They are the Dragon located in the Temple of Earth, the Gold Dragon in Torent Forest, and the Dark Dragon in Vinhelm. Of these, the Dark Dragon is strongest and gives you the most EXP. Unfortunately, you can only fight this dragon once, as it is the gatekeeper to where you fight the final battle with Mithos. Battle with the Dark Dragon should be done in the same manner as the other two Dragons.
Fake. This fake treasure chest is very dangerous. It has 400 HP, is strong against every element, and can only be damaged by magic. For this, make sure to keep Lloyd as a distraction while you command the others to cast their hearts out... even though they'll only do about 1HP of damage per hit. Because of that, I like Genis's Tidal Wave, Gravity Well, and Air Thrust. Raine should use Photon (not Ray), Kratos/Zelos should use Grave and Air Thrust, Colette should use Angel Feathers (not Judgment), and Presea, Regal, and Sheena shouldn't be involved in this fight at all.
Unknown. He is an Angel, but also a Human. Because of this, they list him as "Unknown" in his third entry in the Monster List. This battle against him in Torent Forest is rather easy, despite the fact that you fight him with just Lloyd. The reason it's so easy is that you can easily disrupt his spells when he tries to cast, which he does so often. Just avoid him when he goes into Over Limit, when his spells can't be disrupted.
Bacura. The Bacura only has 255 HP, but you will never do more than 1 HP of damage every time you hit it. Because of this, it can be quite a drawn-out battle. I would suggest using Lloyd, Kratos/Zelos, Regal, and Presea against a Bacura, since physical attacks will kill it faster than magic. Also, remember that the Bacura will never flinch... but it will also never attack.
