1. Which of the following teams, finished the season with a 40-120 record in the 1960s?

Answer: New York Mets

None of the other teams existed in the 60s. The New York Mets in their inaugural season in 1962, dished up a 40-120 season record, under the management of Casey Stengel. 7 seasons later, they won the World Series as the 'Amazing Mets', defeating the Baltimore Orioles.
2. Which of the following retired with more career home runs?

Answer: Willie McCovey

'Stretch' was the only one listed who is a member of the 500 club. Also called 'Big Mac', he retired with 521 home runs, mostly with the Giants. McCovey matched his jersey number of 44 in 1963. The infamous 'McCovey Cove' in San Francisco was named after him. McCovey Cove was frequented by Barry Bonds.
3. What pitcher had the nickname of 'Big D'?

Answer: Don Drysdale

The others listed were not pitchers. Donald Scott Drysdale began his career in 1956 with the Dodgers. His entire career as 'Dodger Blue' saw him win the Cy Young Award in 1962. A good hitting pitcher, he hit 29 home runs in 14 seasons. 'Big D' because he was 6'6", 216 lbs. Don passed away in Canada in 1993. His efforts had him inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1984.
4. Mel Ott played his entire 22 season career with what team?

Answer: New York Giants

None of the other teams existed when Mel played the game. From 1926-1947, he was held high by the Giant fans. A member of the 500 home run club, Ott led the league 6 times in home runs. He was in the MVP top ten voting 6 times. He also has 4 World Series home runs to his credit. This Hall of Famer died in 1958 at the age of 49.
5. Which of the following never won a Cy Young Award?

Answer: Bob Feller

Spahn won his in 1957, Ford in 1961, and Chance in 1963 with the Angels. 'Rapid Robert' as he was nicknamed, amazingly never won the award. Feller retired in 1956, the first year of the Cy Young Award, which Dodger Don Newcombe won. 18 seasons all with the Cleveland Indians, saw Feller win the triple crown in 1940, and was in the top ten for season MVP voting 6 times.

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1962.

The others listed were not pitchers. The great Nolan Ryan! Enough said. Amazingly enough, Nolan never won a Cy Young Award. From the Mets to the Angels, then the Astros and Rangers, Nolan dominated hitters. 8 times in his career, Ryan was in the top ten for the Cy Young voting, finishing 2nd in 1973 to Orioles' Jim Palmer.
7. What team won the 1936 World Series?

Answer: New York Yankees

The other teams did not exist in 1936. This season was the first of four consecutive World Series titles. With a roster of Gehrig, Lazerri, Dickey, rookie DiMaggio, and shortstop Frank Crosetti, the Yankees could do no wrong. They were complimented with their arms of Red Ruffing, Lefty Gomez, and Monte Pearson. They defeated their crosstown rival New York Giants 4 games to 2.
8. Which of the following hit over 30 triples in a season?

Answer: Chief Wilson

The others listed were all pitchers. Chief Wilson set a record for hitting an amazing 36 triples in a season in 1912 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. This record stood entering the 2003 season. No other player had ever reached the 30 plateau in triples, during the 20th century.
9. What year was the last season, that the 2003 Cincinnati Reds were called the 'Redlegs'?

Answer: 1959

The Cincinnati franchise had the name from 1954-1959. In 1960 they became the Reds. The original name of the franchise was the Cincinnati Red Stockings from 1882-1889.
10. What famous manager had the nickname of 'Sparky'?

Answer: George Anderson

The others listed, were listed with their nicknames. George Lee 'Sparky' Anderson, managed from 1970-1995, with the Reds and the Tigers. He won 4 National League pennants including 2 World Series, and 1 World Series from the American League. Upon retirement in 1995, he was #3 in career wins with 2194 wins. He won 2 Manager of the Year Awards with Detroit.
