1. Who played against the Warriors at Eden Park in the first round in 2012?

Answer: Manly Warringah Sea Eagles

It was a replay of the 2011 NRL Grand Final, played at Eden Park which is the spiritual home of Rugby Union in New Zealand. The final score was 26-20 to Manly.
2. Who claimed the Dally M medal for player of the year for 2012?

Answer: Ben Barba

Ben Barba won the medal in overwhelming fashion, beating his nearest rival by 6 points. Ben Barba was the fullback for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
Jonathan Thurston was the halfback for the North Queensland Cowboys, Cameron Smith was the hooker for the Melbourne Storm, and Benji Marshall was the five-eighth for the Wests Tigers.
3. Who won the 2011 minor premiership?

Answer: Melbourne Storm

The Storm were tipped by many people to meet the eventual premiers Manly in the Grand Final. However, this turned out not to be the case as they were defeated by the NZ warriors in the prelimenary final.

This was an amazing hit. However, some of the media jumped on the "get rid of the shoulder charge" band wagon. Unfortunately for Dean Young, he was tackled just before G.I. made contact with him, and he hit him flush on the head, knocking him out cold. Just between me and you it was "AWESOME". The Souths vs. Dragons match was played at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday 21st July 2012. G.I. faced the judiciary and was banned for three macthes.

Dean Young played for St.George-Illawarra Dragons, Frank Pritchard for Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Matt Scott for the North Queensland Cowboys and
Nathan Fien for St. George-Illawarra Dragons.

Answer: Nathan Merritt

Merritt scored an amazing 5 tries, and showed how much of a dangerous player Nathan Merritt could be on the wing. It was in round 22 against Parammatta. He joined Rabbitohs greats Harold Horder, Johnny Graves and Ian Moir.

Intially Adam Blair and Glenn Stewart were only sent to the sin bin for 10 minutes each. However, they both decided that the fight was not over and started it up again as they were walking towards the sideline. It then erupted even more into a TEAM VS TEAM all in brawl, with both benches becoming involved.
7. Who was the top points scorer for the 2012 season?

Answer: Jarrod Croker

Jarrod Croker finished with an astonishing points tally of 226 points for the entire season equating for around 40% of his teams entire points tally.

Jarrod Croker played for Canberra Raiders, Jonathan Thurston for North Queensland Cowboys, James Maloney for the NZ Warriors and Cooper Cronk for Melbourne Storm.
8. What was the final score of the 2012 NRL grand final, played between the Melbourne Storm and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, in which the Storm won the premiership?

Answer: 14-4

The scored actually slightly flattered the Bulldogs, with the Storm dominating for most of the game. The Clive Churchill medallist for player of the day was Storm halfback, Cooper Cronk.

Answer: Newcastle Knights

The Knights won for the first time against the Roosters at Ausgrid Stadium (formerly Hunter Stadium), since their heyday when players such as Andrew "Joey" Johns was playing. They won 18-10.

Answer: He fractured his cheekbone

Darren Lockyer was under a high-ball when his team mate and Kiwi International Gerard Beale jumped for the same ball, and accidentally drove his knee directly into his skipper's face, fracturing his cheek bone. Darren Lockyer would not be seen in a Broncos jersey again.
