Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In Leg 11, teams departed from which country, heading to England?

Answer: Spain

In the beginning of Leg 11, the final four teams departed from their tenth Pit Stop in Seville, Spain's Plaza de Espaņa. To begin this stretch, they were told to hop onto trains at the nearby station and make their way to Spain's capital city, Madrid, where they would need to board a flight to London's Heathrow Airport. Because of this, all four teams arrived in England early the next morning and hopped into Ford vehicles to drive to their next destination.
2. During Leg 11 in England, both members of each team needed to score two points in what sport?

Answer: Soccer/Football

Landing in London, teams hopped into their Ford Focus vehicles and headed onward to Liverpool to find their next task at the Anfield football stadium. Here, dressed in the colours of Liverpool FC, the teams had to take turns shooting penalty kicks at their goalkeepers. If both members could get two goals on their keepers, they would be able to receive their next clue and continue on with the race course.
3. For their Road Block task in Leg 11, teams left England, entering which other country/region for the challenge?

Answer: Wales

Heading out from Liverpool, teams needed to drive into Wales to find a clue waiting under the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Wrexham County. Here, one member of each team was required to learn a verse of the Welsh poem "Y Sipsi!" in its native language by spending a boatride along the aquaduct (for a total of about fifteen minutes) with a Welsh language instructor.

At the end, they had to recite the poem from memory with all complexities intact, or else start the process again. Caroline, Brendon, Jamal, and Connor completed this task.
4. Which was the only team to complete the 'Boot It' Detour task in England in Leg 11?

Answer: Brendon and Rachel

After the Road Block, teams drove back into England looking for the Bolesworth Estate in Tattenhall. Here, teams dressed up in "Downton Abbey"-style clothing and chose their Detour task, either 'Boot It' or 'Shoot It'. In 'Boot It', teams needed to grab a pair of either size 9 or size 11 Wellington boots, fill them with water, and toss them along a course in a boot-throwing competition.

When they finished the course properly they would be given their next clue. Only Brendon and Rachel completed this task (twice, because they used the wrong boots).

The other three teams needed to take shotguns and shoot down a combined total of sixteen clay pigeons on a range to get their clue.
5. Which team was eliminated from the race in Leg 11?

Answer: Leo and Jamal

After the Detour, teams needed to take a twenty minute drive through the English countryside to Peckforton Castle in Cheshire County where they would find their final Pit Stop. Here, Dave and Connor took their third consecutive win (and fifth overall), this time taking with them a trip for two to Fiji courtesy of Travelocity.

It also cemented them into the final three along with Caroline and Jennifer and Brendon and Rachel. In the end, Leo and Jamal had a bit of deja vu, once again being eliminated in the penultimate leg of the race.
6. In the final leg of the race, teams flew to Las Vegas where they were driven into the desert and told to dig for an item. It turned out to be which of these?

Answer: A chest

In Leg 12, the final three teams left the Pit Stop and were told to head to Heathrow to fly to their final destination city: Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon their arrival, the teams were told to hop into the marked, black vans waiting outside the airport, whereupon their drivers would taken them off-road to a mystery destination in the middle of the desert outside North Las Vegas.

Here, they were simply told to dig, ultimately unearthing a treasure chest belonging to David Copperfield. It was suggested that they open it en route to their next destination, also a mystery.
7. During the final leg of the race in Las Vegas, teams completed a task with famous illusionist David Copperfield. Which of these was it?

Answer: Road Block

Hopping back into their cars, the teams were driven back to the Las Vegas Strip to find a clue box waiting with none other than David Copperfield at the MGM Grand Las Vegas. Here, the teams found a Road Block task in which one member had to be locked into a crate and chained to the walls. Using the keys found inside their unearthed chests they then needed to participate in Copperfield's magic trick, escaping by unchaining themselves and getting out before being dropped into a flaming pile of wreckage. Connor, Jennifer, and Rachel completed this task, revealing themselves to their partner after a tense explosion.
8. During Leg 12 in Las Vegas, teams had to replace light bulbs on the signs of which hotel?

Answer: The Mirage

After the Road Block, teams needed to take a taxi to the Neon Museum Boneyard to locate their next clue box. While there, they needed to obtain a single lightbulb from a sign and bring it to their next stop-- the clue box waiting in front of The Mirage.

Here, both members needed to take window-washing scaffolds up to the top of the building to replace all of the lights in the letter I of the Mirage's sign. Then, they had to relay the correct number of bulbs, two hundred forty one, to get their next clue.
9. The final task of the race involved doing which of these things to reach the Finish Line?

Answer: Skydiving

After finishing their task at The Mirage, the teams took their taxis out of Vegas proper, heading to Henderson to find Maverick Helicopters. Once they arrived, they found the second Road Block of the race, requiring that the team member who did not perform the David Copperfield stunt take a ride in a helicopter, flying over the city of Las Vegas, looking for a sign to indicate the location of the Finish Line. Dave, Caroline, and Brendon had to take this task while their partners headed to the end.
10. Which team won "The Amazing Race 24"?

Answer: Dave and Connor

In the end, the team members reunited after a harrowing, spectacular skydive over the Las Vegas Strip and headed across the field of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to the Finish Line. Dave and Connor narrowly defeated Caroline and Jennifer to the finish, winning their sixth leg of the race, and the race as a whole, and taking with them the one million dollar prize.

Originally, the duo came in eighth place in their original season because of Dave's ruptured Achilles tendon. Caroline and Jennifer topped their previous fourth place finish while Brendon and Rachel once again placed third.

They did, however, become the first team to step on the Finish Line on two separate occasions.
