Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which team won the Fast Forward in Singapore in Leg 9, skipping all tasks?

Answer: Adam and Bethany

In Leg 9, teams had to leave Malta and their eighth Pit Stop at Fort Manoel to get plane tickets to Southeast Asia, specifically the city of Singapore. Teams ended up arriving on one of two separate flights are were required to race by taxi, ferry, and then on foot for one kilometer to a coconut stand on Pulau Ubin where they would need to drink a coconut-worth of milk to get their next clue envelope.

This would contain the Fast Forward task, sending a team to ride a standing wave for two minutes (both members at the same time) to head directly to the Pit Stop. Adam and Bethany did this on their second try.
2. Team members completing the tightrope Road Block task in Leg 9 had to perform the task at what landmark?

Answer: Marina Bay Sands Resort

Teams not opting to partake in the Fast Forward task were sent back to Singapore's downtown area and told to make their way up to one of the higher floors of the Marina Bay Sands Resort. There, they would find a Road Block clue asking for the racer who wanted to be a funambulist. For this task, Maya, Brooke, Jim, and Kym had to traverse a tightrope strung fifty-seven floors up between two of the towers of the resort-- there and back-- before they could collect their next clue sending them to the centre square of Raffles Place.
3. Only one team completed the 'Chilli Crabs' Detour option in Singapore in Leg 9. Which was it?

Answer: Misti and Jim

Finding their clue with a man with a mobile billboard in Raffles Square, teams were told to make a choice between 'Chilli Crabs' and 'China Cups'. In 'Chilli Crabs', Misti and Jim headed to a restaurant at the Robertson Quay where they had to extract steaming hot crab meat from crabs cooked in chilli sauce. Once they collected two pounds they got their clue.

In 'China Cups', teams instead went to Hong San See Temple to receive a deep tissue massage and experience fire cupping. When Robbie and Brooke, Amy and Maya, and Kym and Alli finished this, they got their clue.
4. Did any team use the Double U-Turn found in Singapore in Leg 9?

Answer: Yes

After the Detour, teams were sent to Fort Canning to step on the Double U-Turn mat. Here, Amy and Maya U-Turned Adam and Bethany in the event that they failed their Fast Forward (which they didn't). Because the surfers never reached this point in the leg (having skipped it entirely) they were not affected by the board.

After this task, teams needed to make their way to one of four locations featuring merlion statues, only one of which (Mount Faber) would actually have their next clue.
5. Which team was eliminated from the race in Singapore in Leg 9?

Answer: Kym and Alli

Finding their clue at Mount Faber, teams were told to proceed to their ninth Pit Stop, the Fullerton Pavilion on Singapore's waterfront. Here, Adam and Bethany won their third leg of the race (though second in a row), this time receiving a trip for two to Bali courtesy of Travelocity, and all thanks to a lucky Fast Forward break.

In the end of the leg, Kym and Alli were unable to regain the time lost by heading to the Fast Forward. Despite completing the tasks faster than most other teams, they still arrived in last and were eliminated.

This was also the last leg of the race in which Misti and Jim could use the save.
6. In Leg 10, teams traveled to what city in The Philippines?

Answer: Manila

Moving into the tenth leg of the race, the final four teams departed from the Fullerton Pavilion and made their way to the airport to fly to Manila, the capital city of The Philippines. All four teams were equalized upon reaching their first route marker in front of the Baclaran Church, mainly because the flower vendor in possession of their clue would not be open until early in the morning.
7. Only one team completed the 'Catch' Detour task in The Philippines in Leg 10. Which was it?

Answer: Robbie and Brooke

Embarking on their trip through The Philippines, teams headed out from the Baclaran Church and were told to take a jeepney to their next destination, an auto shop known as Salinas Specials in Rosario Municipal Plaza. The clue handed ff here was the Detour. Brooke and Robbie ended up being the only ones to take the physical 'Catch' option, which sent them into the waters of Manila Bay in the Rosario Fish Port.

Here, they needed to fill baskets with caught fish and carry them back to shore, accumulating about three hundred pounds worth of seafood.

The task proved quicker for them than the other one for the other teams.
8. In the 'Coach' Detour option in The Philippines in Leg 10, teams had to do which of the following?

Answer: Build

The three teams who did 'Coach' (Amy and Maya, Adam and Bethany, and Misti and Jim), ended up needing to find the RGC Side Car and Welding Shop in Rosario. There, they were required to select a motorcycle and, using the provided pieces, connect and decorate a sidecar.

When teams braved a downpour and assembled their pieces to a detail-oriented perfection, they received their next clue and continued on to rural Philippines.
9. The final task of Leg 10 (in The Philippines) was actually a Switchback from what earlier race?

Answer: "The Amazing Race 5"

The last time the race visited The Philippines was in the later stages of "The Amazing Race 5" when the final four teams flew to Manila and, later, El Nido. One of the most notorious tasks involved using a local ox known as a carabao to plough a muddy field.

After finishing their Detour tasks, the four teams headed to the rice paddy fields in the village of Naic where both members had to jump into this Switchback. For this, they had to, like in the earlier race, take control of a carabao and find their next clue envelope buried in the mud.
10. Which team was last to arrive at the non-elimination Pit Stop in Leg 10?

Answer: Robbie and Brooke

After their Switchback, teams were required to proceed on foot to their tenth Pit Stop overlooking the rice paddies in Naic. There, Misti and Jim narrowly outran the other four teams in one of the race's closest finishes to take their fifth cumulative win.

This time they ended up receiving a trip for two to Vietnam courtesy of Travelocity. In the end, Adam and Bethany narrowly beat out Robbie and Brooke, who ended up selecting the largest field to plough, though it was a non-elimination leg.
