Subject: Books that make you cry

I like reading sad books, especially books with sad endings, I recently read a book about a troublesome boy who starts to bond with his foster mother only to find she is dying of cancer. I can't remember the name of the book. What books have made you cry?

All Lurlene McDaniel books make me cry. Someone either has cancer or dies in every book I've read by her except for one "My Secret Boyfriend" I believe it's called. Lots of girls from my school read her books.

Tiger Burning Bright by Marion Zimmer Bradley. So many parts of it make me want to cry. One of my all time favorite books.

The last book of A Series of Unfortunate Events. If you've read the book, you might understand why.(I'm not going to spoil the ending for those who haven't read it yet.)

Alice Sebold wrote Lovely Bones... Ive read all the series of Unfortunate Events and I, too, found the book really sad. The last two Harry Potter books made me cry also.

Where the Red Fern Grows is on this list. But the one that really makes me cry is Tuesdays with Morrie - a book about life, coping with an incurable illness, and facing certain death. It's also about the relationship between an English professor and one of his students.

I have wanted to read "The Lovely Bones " for ages. One of the saddest books that made me cry was actually a book of true stories. All about children abused and murdered by their parents or (usually)stepfather/mother.The punishment those monsters got was a joke for the misery they inflicted on those young ones.Even though it upset me so much I finished the book from start to finish then promptly gave it away.

My absolute favorite book, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, made me cry, and books never make me cry.

Vc andrew books are all the same. The only good ones were Flowers in the atic, petals on the wind, Dawn, Ruby, all that gliters.Books that always make cry are New moon, and elipse. My heart always aches for the charcters, and the tears always well up without fail. Night made me sick. I will never read that book again.

The Bell Jar, by Sylvia Plath is quite touching. I can't remember much of it though.

I remember reading "The Green Mile" books (the story was released in 6 novelettes) by Stephen King. This was before the movie came out - I was choking up when John Coffey was executed. Reading the story moved me much more than seeing the movie version. Not sure I would have been as emotional in a theater, with other people around and all.
