I never cry but one day as I was reading my Chicken Soup For The Teenage Soul book and I came across this one story called "Christmas Cookies". It was a true story about a grandma who on Christmas Eve would always make cookies from scratch for her family, neighboors, and soup kitchen. The grandma had cancer and died two months after and when the family went two the grandparents house the following year for Christmas they had fun but they knew Christmas would never feel the same. I started balling! Reply #161. Oct 15 08, 8:08 PM |

I cried at Frankenstein. The book was surprisingly quite different from what I was expecting (courtesy of the all the movies and stuff!), and it was definitely sad :( Reply #174. Dec 29 10, 7:04 PM |

There's a series of books called Before I die...I think they're also known as One last Wish actually. I can't read them and not cry. And I like to read them because sometimes a good cry is a good thing. Reply #175. Jan 20 11, 7:39 PM |

All sorts of stories about animals, when you get attached to them and in the end they get killed. I've stopped reading such books. And sometimes the oddest things make me cry. I was reading "Winnie the Pooh" to my sister, and the end really made me sad. When Christopher Robin said he couln't do "nothing" anymore, but they would still always be friends... Made me think how innocent I once was, and how I promised myself I would always remember what it's like being a kid, and yet forgot. Made me want to turn the clock back... and even thinking about it makes me cry :') Reply #176. Mar 16 11, 12:06 PM |

I'm currently reading a book called "Tell My Sons" by Lt. Col. Mark M. Weber. It's about a young father who finds out he has terminal cancer & he wrote this book as a way for his sons to remember him by. I was crying by page 7! A real tearjerker & all the more sad knowing that it is a true story & the author just passed away recently. :( Reply #177. Jun 26 13, 4:49 PM |

I have also cried over 'Tale of Two Cities' 'Boy Called It' and 'Flowers for Algernon' but the book that causes a lump in my throat just thinking about it is Mary Renault's 'Last of the Wine' Reply #178. Aug 30 13, 3:56 PM |
