Subject: Books that make you cry

I like reading sad books, especially books with sad endings, I recently read a book about a troublesome boy who starts to bond with his foster mother only to find she is dying of cancer. I can't remember the name of the book. What books have made you cry?

The first time I read HP and the OotP and HBP, I cried when Sirius and Dumbledore died. They were sad parts.

A Walk To Remember. I read that book way before the movie came out. And I cried my eyes out.

Okay, I've posted to this topic before, but I had to include one more I just remembered (as I was reading it and crying!) - Henry V! I don't cry in every part of it - I just get very choked up when he gives his St. Crispin's Day speech. I absolutely love that part!

I cried when Dumbledore died. Also at the end of "All the Weyrs of Pern" when Robinton dies. I cry everytime I read it.

Scorpions by Walter Dean Myers, when the main characters friend moves away. I know it doesn't sound very sad but it was.
Another is Outsiders when Johnny dies because Dally is so heartbroken.
Another is Cold Sassy Tree when the grandpa dies.

Toes and Where the Red Fern Grows! So Sad! We read Where the Red Fern Grows in class. The teacher that was reading was crying! She had to stop to wipe away her tears. I was crying too.

Rascal. That was a great book that made me cry. Where the Red Fern Grows was sad, too.

Night by Elie Wiesel made me cry, but I love it, it is such a powerful story. I also cried when I read Kite Runner, I reccomend it if you haven't read it, it's a great read.

"A boy called IT" made me cry. It also made me hug my kids and tell them that I love them.

Okay, so I prefer a good Crichton book to a tearjerker, but...

As an early teen, "Watership Down" made me cry and I wanted to quit reading. For about a week.

There have been some others, but that one was memorable.
