Avengers
Loki. Loki is Thor's stepbrother tried to get Thor to fight the Hulk. The message was intercepted by Ant Man, Wasp, and Iron Man. When the plot against Thor was revealed the Avengers were formed by Ant-Man, the Wasp, Thor, Iron Man, and the Hulk (who didn't remain with them long).
In issue number 4 of their original series, the "Avengers" discovered this 'Golden Age' hero floating in the sea, having been frozen in ice for decades. Who is he or she? | 'Avengers' - Earth's Greatest Heroes
|
Captain America. Captain America had been frozen in ice. This block of ice was thrown by Namor, the Sub-Mariner into the sea, where it drifted until Captain America was partially freed from the ice when the "Avengers" submarine picked him up.
Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. All of these people have at one time or another been members of the "Avengers", but the first line up change, after the Hulk's departure and Captain America's joining was the recruitment of Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
Beetle. Vision and Hawkeye had been stalwart members until the Avengers Dis-Assembled storyline, where they both perished. Sandman, a Spider-Man villain had been a member, but recently returned to crime. The Beetle has also reformed but as a member of the Thunderbolts. He has never been an "Avenger".
Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch are brother and sister. They have an infamous father, who was their former leader in the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Who is he? | 'Avengers' - Earth's Greatest Heroes

Vision. Vision gave it a shot, and was in response, memory wiped and disassembled.
Ultron. Ultron has consistently remodified himself creating new editions, even going so far as to have an adamantium version of himself making himself virtually unstoppable.
Spider-Man. Spider-Man did indeed turn down an offer of membership. Nova (Richard Rider) would love to be a member, Ms. Marvel has been a member. Thanos is a stellar class villain. However in Issue #3, Spider-Man accepted the offer and became an Avenger.
During the mini-series "Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars", who was the leader of the "Avengers", who deferred leadership of the heroes to Captain America? | 'Avengers' - Earth's Greatest Heroes
|
The Wasp. The Wasp deferred to Captain America because some of the other heroes might not have heard of her, and they all needed to trust their leader to lead them into battle.
Scarlet Witch. The Scarlet Witch used the Vision to attack the Avengers. The body of Jack Of Hearts exploded in front of the mansion killing Ant-Man. Afterwards the rest of the team disbanded.
Avengers #115. The prologue to the story began in "Avengers" #115, which led into "Defenders" #8. The story then continued for the next three months in each title, giving readers something to look forward to for the entire summer of 1973. The entire story can be found in "Avengers" #115-188 and "Defenders" Volume 1, #8-11. It was also reprinted in 2002 in the trade paperback, "The Avengers Defenders War".
Dormammu and Loki. Dormammu was the schemer behind the whole plan. He wanted the Evil Eye in order that he could finally conquer Earth. Dormammu was bound by his word to Doctor Strange to never invade Earth's dimension again, so the flame-headed being planned to use the power the Evil Eye to expand his dimension until it engulfed Earth as well. He enlisted Loki, the God of Evil, to help him by working as his contact on Earth. In return, Loki would be cured of the blindness he had suffered in battle with his half-brother, the Mighty Thor.
They were tricked into believing that the Evil Eye could cure the Black Knight.. While the Black Knight's body was frozen in stone, Doctor Strange made contact with the hero's spirit, which was trapped in the dimension known as the Netherworld. Dormammu and Loki were able to change the substance of the communication so that it seemed as if the Black Knight was pleading for Doctor Strange's help. They also made sure that the Defenders knew that the Evil Eye was the only item that could possibly bring the hero back to life.
The Human Torch. In the events of "Fantastic Four" Volume 1, #54 (retold in flashbacks several times in this story), Prestor John was awoken by the Human Torch and Wyatt Wingfoot, and the Torch stole the Evil Eye, hoping to use it to breach the impenetrable walls of the Great Refuge (home to the Inhumans and his girlfriend, Crystal). The hot-headed young hero did not know that the mystical device was building up to an overload. Luckily, Wyatt Wingfoot was able to use a Polarizer Gun to shoot the Evil Eye out of the Torch's hand, right before it exploded with the force of a nuclear bomb. The Torch survived, but the Evil Eye was seemingly destroyed.
Unknown to any at that time, the explosion had caused the Evil Eye to fracture into six identical pieces, and the forces drove them down into and through the planet. This was part of a safeguard built into the device by the weaponsmiths of Avalon, so no one who ever tried to use the Evil Eye at full power would ever get a chance to do so again.
Hawkeye the Archer. Hawkeye was (at that time) briefly estranged from the Avengers, and had helped Doctor Strange and the Defenders when they battled the Red Ghost. Much like their first meeting in "Tales of Suspense" #57, Hawkeye and Iron Man battled, this time in Monterrey, Mexico. Hawkeye won out over Shellhead and made off with the Evil Eye segment by using a magnetic arrow to make Iron Man's repulsor rays miss him and hit a building. In the confusion as Iron Man worked on saving anyone in the damaged building, the conniving archer made his getaway.
The Black Panther. The Black Panther was referring to Doctor Strange. The Sorcerer Supreme had been trying to face off against the Panther and Mantis using his martial skills, but decided that the possibility of him being defeated by two of the Avengers' most skilled combatants was not worth the risk of losing the piece of the Evil Eye that they fought for. A quick incantation and the Evil Eye was his, and the two Avengers were left hoping for their comrades to be able to reverse this trend of seeming helplessness.
Sunfire. The mutant Sunfire took the Evil Eye section as the Shield Slinger and the Lord of Atlantis battled in the seas surrounding Osaka, Japan. Claiming it himself so that they would learn a lesson in respecting national boundaries, Sunfire was soon bested by the Sub-Mariner. The Evil Eye dropped into Captain America's hands, but the obviously inequality of power forced him to give it back to the Sub-Mariner ... though not before extracting a little cooperation and trust from his old adversary and friend, as both heroes realized that their reasons for striving for the Evil Eye were not the same.
