Osbourne, Sharon
Don Arden. Sharon Rachel Arden was born on 10th October 1952, the daughter of Don and Hope Arden. Hope Arden was a dancer, whilst father Don managed and promoted rock groups, amongst them Gene Vincent, The Small Faces and the UK outfit Black Sabbath, which featured one Ozzy Osbourne on lead vocals in their prime years. Sharon also had a brother, David Arden.

Jet Records. Sharon apparently wanted to be a ballerina when she was a little girl, but ended up, like her father, working in the music business.
Aimee. Children Jack and Kelly were well known from their television appearances, but eldest daughter Aimee preferred not to live in the media spotlight. Louis Osbourne was Ozzy's son from his first marriage to Thelma Mayfair, with whom he also had a daughter, Jessica. Sharon and Ozzy held a special Hebrew ceremony in 2002 to renew their vows after 20 years of marriage.

Buckinghamshire. The Osbourne family home, in Chalfont St.Peter, Buckinghamshire, was where the Osbourne children spent much of their childhood and was also the scene of Ozzy's quad bike accident in 2003.
Ozzy was recovering from his injuries when he heard that his song "Changes", recorded with daughter Kelly, had made #1 in the UK charts.
The most important person in rock. Sharon pretty much masterminded the success of "The Osbournes", shown on MTV in America and Channel 4 in the UK. The programme showed the day to day life of the family, minus daughter Aimee, and was sometimes likened to "The Addams Family"! The show earned the family a few million pounds, and made them household names.
The 16-24 year olds. Striding out onto the stage each week to the sound of Aretha's "Respect", Sharon was usually greeted by huge cheers from the audience. Her dedication to her artists, plus her vocal sparring with fellow judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh, won her a very supportive British public. The success of the show earned Sharon many interviews in the media, including a memorable TV appearance on the Michael Parkinson show, in which she guested with Dame Judi Dench and Dame Edna Everage.

Jewellery. The Osbournes had not long returned from an evening out, when Ozzy walked into one of mansion's rooms to find a burglar helping himself to some of Sharon's gems. Although Ozzy did manage to get the thief in a headlock, he eventually had to let him go, and the burglar escaped with wedding rings, necklaces and earrings. Sharon later appeared on the TV programme "Crimewatch", and offered a £100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the culprits, of whom two were said to be involved.
Asda. Her success on "The X Factor" gave Sharon a high profile in the UK, and supermarket giant Asda chose Sharon as the face for their television promotional adverts until September 2005.
"Extreme - My Autobiography". Issued on October 3rd 2005, Sharon's autobiography timed in nicely with the second series of "The X Factor", where once again she was a judge alongside Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh. This time Sharon was the mentor for the 25s and over group.
