Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
JLA
Superman. Though each of these members play a key role in the JLA, Superman is considered to be the official leader.
Where is the JLA's current headquarters, the Watchtower, located? | JLA Comic Books
|
On the Moon. The JLA is currently stationed on the Moon.
What JLA villan did Green Arrow (Connor Hawke)defeat by himself prior to joining the team? | JLA Comic Books
|
The Key. Coming to the Watchtower to officially join the team, Green Arrow found that the entire JLA had been captured by the Key. Using his fathers trick Arrows, Green Arrow saved the JLA and the day.
Lex Luthor. Lex Luthor has been at the helm of the last few Injustice Gangs.
Justice League of America.
There have been romantic tensions between which pair of JLA members? | JLA Comic Books
|
Aquaman and Wonder Woman. There have been slight hints of romantic tension between Aquaman and Wonder Woman. Big Barda and Orion are siblings. Superman is married to Lois Lane. Nightwing and Huntress have had romantic links, but nothing with the Dark Knight.Whci
In Wizard's first JLA special publication, the entire JLA faced off. At the end who was declared the winner? | JLA Comic Books
|
Batman. With Batman's strategic mind, Wizard feels he could defeat anyone if given enough time to plan. I tend to agree.
In the 'Tower of Babel' storyline, how did Ra's Al Ghul devise the plans to defeat the JLA? | JLA Comic Books
|
He stole them from Batman's personal files. Ra's Al Ghul stole Batman's personal plans for taking out each member of the JLA should the need arise.
He was made to be afraid of water. Ra's Al Ghul devised a way for Aquaman to become deathly afraid of water. The end results was Aquaman avoiding contact with the substance he needs to live.
Fire. While Wonder Woman, Obsidian, and Nuklon all appeared on the satellite prior to its destruction, Fire is noticeably absent. Icemaiden mentions that she "called in sick. Lost her powers, or something."
Judgment. Judgment is tied to a pole and killed with heat vision blasts after Hyperclan deems this to be Judgment's own "judgment." This is another subtle changing of the guard, since Judgment was introduced in the "Justice League America" series. Killg%re is an other-dimensional Flash villain, Lord Havoc is an alternate persona of Max Lord, and Chiller is a small-time Bat-villain.
Helena Sandsmark. Helena Sandsmark, Wonder-Girl's mother, is at the side of her daughter and Wonder Woman during the TV debut of the Hyperclan. Donna was a Darkstar at this time, the Cheetah would probably not be associating with WOndy, and Hippolyta would be in the past during this event.
Hypnotize the people of Earth. While it may seem goofy, the White artians telepathy would be amplified through their new base of operations. For those of you who remember, the Hyperclan DID remove the oxygen from Earth's atmosphere to prevent fire in "JLA: Terra Incognita".
Aquaman. While Batman shows up at the initial meeting last, Aquaman does not show up to help the team until issue #2. This would ironically not make a "founder" of the League although his membership describes him that way.
Sahara Desert. The Sahara Desert was the sight of the Hyperclan's "paradise", a demonstration of their "benevolent" powers, but no bsae was involved.
4. Batman takes on and beats Tronix, A-Mortal, Zenturion, and Fluxus, making that total 4. He DOESN'T beat Protex, Primaid, Zum or Armek. This may be the only time Batman is useful in extraterrestrial combat, so make note of that.
Still Zone. The Martian ship is in the Still Zone, which is featured numerous times throughout the series. It shows up as the site for Prometheus' home, the Crooked House (under the guise of the Ghost Zone), the Limbo the Spectre is trapped in, and even the dimension Zazalla uses to travel.
Green Lantern. The last line goes to newbie Kyle Rayner when the Watchtower is first revealed. It is quite a poetic uttering, "Wow."
Sapphire Mason, his wife. Sapphire Mason, for no apparent reason, is not at her husband's funeral. Ironically, Java the Caveman, an enemy of Metamorpho is shown holding Rex Mason's son. Superman, of course, has his first appearance in his electromagnetic costume in the JLA series here.
4. Of those present, Aztek, Green Arrow, Steel, and Plastic Man would go on to join the team. The only one actually picked out of the recruitment drive is Tomorrow Woman, who would go on to be a mole for Profs. Ivo and Morrow. Damage, Hitman, Warrior, Supergirl, and Max Mercury are the possible members who never get picked up for the team.
Booster Gold's armor. While all of the objects would eventually appear in the trophy room, in issue #6, the only one is an old set of Booster's armor (which, ironically, seems to be the one he starts using again prior to his unfortunate demise).
Brundle. Yes, the Jeff Goldblum character Dr. Brundle, who is infamous for becoming a fly due to a teleportation accident, uses a teleporter to send GA to the moon. Dr. Magnus is the Metal Menc reator. Ivo is the Amazo android creator (remember that, it'll be important later in the series). Dr. Morrow is the creator of Red Tornado.
Oracle. Black Manta is Aquaman's dream, Joker is in Batman's dream, and Wonder Woman encounters Steve Trevor. Oracle does not show up in the JLA series until "JLA Secret Files" #1.
Year One. The Year One incarnation (Martian Manhunter, Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Aquaman, and Black Canary) is shown battling the Key. The Satellite Era team would be close in membership to this team; however, Hal Jordan was not on the team at the same time as J'onn during that incarnation. The Pre-Crisis Silver Age team would include Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, minus Black Canary. The Giffen Era team would be far off from this membership, including Guy Gardner, Blue Beetle, and Booster Gold.
Batman. Batman, following a conversation with Superman, says, "Hh. Clark." The "hh" sound, which is Morrison's trademark written sigh is something that has come to be an oft-used expression to represent that Batman doesn't think Superman will ever understand his motivations. A subtle yet poetic homage to the "World's Finest" days of yore.
Genesis. While the JLA had major roles in the other three crossovers, Genesis tid into issue #10. This issue is a prologue ot the actual "fifth week" event, instigated by the Martian Manhunter's discovery of a "God Wave" destined to be a catalyst for metahuman changes.
Wrong eye color. Metron arrives with red eyes, which is a traditional sign of the evil taint of Darkseid. Interestingly, neither Aquaman nor the Flash, who have met Metron before, notice this change.
Saturn. Jemm is known as the "Son of Saturn," and he is also a prince by brithright there. It might be easy to confuse Jemm's race of Red Martians with their relatives, the Green Martians, who reside on Mars. A notable member of this race is Martian Manhunter.
Desaad. While Desaad is mentioned, he does not actually appear. The man behind Desaad's cowl turns out to be Bruce Wayne, and the real Desaad is nowhere to be found.
Amazo. A supposedly-reformed Amazo fights alongside the ragtag JLA of the future.
A digital clock reading 1:42. Hourman appears alongside Superman 1,000,000. The giant red and blue fish can be seen in the montage of Metron's departure to Wonderworld. The digital clock mentioned about reads 1:43, not 1:42.
