If her mother would have made her stay home that night, Martha probably would not have been murdered.
A light blue parka.. When Martha left her home she grabbed her light blue parka, because the air was starting to get chilly. She was still wearing her parka when her body was found the next morning.
Tommy Skakel. Tommy Skakel and Martha engaged in sexual activities until she left for home around 10 P.M. Julie Skakel, Tommy's sister, recalled seeing Martha walk around the Skakel home toward the Moxley residence, but she never made it home.
Leading Tommy Skakel on.. In the excerpt discussed above, Michael accused Martha of leading his brother Tommy on. Michael was jealous because he and Martha had previously dated, and now she liked his older brother who happened to be his "arch enemy."

Rushton Skakel immediately terminated their contract when he received this information and paid nearly $1,000,000 in fees.

Ann Skakel . Ann Reynolds Skakel owned a rare set of Tony Penna golf clubs. When a search was made of the Belle Haven neighborhood, it was concluded that Ann Skakel was the only one who owned this rare set of golf clubs. After dying of cancer in 1973, Mrs. Reynolds-Skakel's set remained in the Skakel home. When the Skakel home was searched, all of the clubs were there except the six-iron which was a major piece of evidence in Michael's conviction.
