Brian always takes this hat with him to the race track and puts it in his car on race day. Brian thought he lost the hat or someone stole it at the Homestead-Miami Speedway the last race of the season. He found it eventually at his home.

This cost him the race after he dominated most of the race. They later used this rule against Ted Musgrave (NCTS driver) in the season finale at Homestead, and this cost Ted the championship.
Indianapolis Raceway Park. Brian and a fellow driver Shane Hmiel raced forever before Brian finally took the lead for the last 20 laps of the race, going on for the win.

Adam Petty hat. Brian thought he lost the hat at Homestead-Miami in 2003, but later found it at home. Kyle and Pattie Petty gave Brian a picture of Adam the morning of the race, and Brian kept it in his fire suit that day and went on to win the championship.
