Corner Gas - Season 2
It Can't Be Nashville Every Night. "It Can't Be Nashville Every Night" is a song of the Hip's new album, "In Between Evolution". The only part of the song that is performed on the show is a series of la's and oh's.
The Tragically Hip. All options are Canadian bands, but The Tragically Hip were practicing in Brent's garage. Brent says to the band, "Don't tell me what the poets are doing..." This is a direct quotation from a Tragically Hip song, called "Poets".
1986. Principal Lumley, apparently the band members' old principal, lets them know that their last gig was 1986.
great-great uncle. His name was Elie Burrows, the great great uncle of Lacey Burrows.
Awesome. Wanda says that Hank is "totally saying awesome too much".
Hank. Lacey says that the band sounds like "a weasel caught in a chainsaw." Or at least "some small animal caught in some kind of machinery."
Oscar says it sounds like "a muskrat caught in a thresher."
A Ten-skee. Brent claims that Hank always calls money cute names so it won't seem like real money.
Earl the Squirrel. Oscar says, "You know that song he does, 'Earl the Squirrel'? He stole that song from me. Back in the seventies, I wrote a tune called 'Mona the Monkey'. Next thing you know, I turn on the radio and there's 'Earl the Squirrel'." Karen replies that that is not exactly hard evidence.
Saskatoon. The concert was sold out because Wanda bought the last one hundred tickets.
