Super Mario 3D Land
Inky Piranha Plants. Inky Piranha Plants are Piranha Plants that spit ink onto the screen. Venus Fire Traps are Piranha Plants that spit out fireballs. Koopa Troopas are turtle-like creatures that appear in the series and Dry Bones are skeleton versions of Koopa Troopas.
Satoru Iwata. Satoru Iwata has also been the President of Nintendo. Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka are the General Producers of "Super Mario 3D Land" and Koji Kondo is the Musical Composer of the "Mario" series.
Mega Moles. The Mega Mole first appeared in "Super Mario World"; it was the bigger version of the Monty Mole. This is only their second game they have appeared in.
Pom Pom. Kamek is a blue dressed wizard who aids Bowser. Baby Bowser does that appear in the game. Yoshi is a dinosaur that Mario can ride. Pom Pom is a pink female version of Bomm Bomm. She also throws boomerangs at Mario.
Bowser Jr.. Bowser Jr. made his debut in "Super Mario Sunshine". This is the first "Mario" platformer since "Super Mario 64" to not feature Bowser Jr. Luigi is the brother of Mario. Dry Bowser is the skeleton version of Bowser.
Sixteen. There eight Normal Worlds, and then eight Special Worlds. This is also the first "Mario" platforming game to have more than ten worlds, and the first "Mario" game to have multiple Special Worlds.
Bowser. He has appeared in almost every game in the series. He is the king of the Koopas, and he kidnapped Princess Peach. He has eight children: Larry, Lemmy, Morton, Ludwig, Iggy, Roy, Wendy, and Bowser Jr.
Boomerang Suit. The Candy and Lizard Suit are made up and the Goron Suit is from "The Legend of Zelda" series. The Boomerang Suit will give Mario the ability to throw Boomerangs, just like the Boomerang Bros.
"Super Mario Bros. 3". Boom Boom made his debut in "Super Mario Bros. 3"; he was the boss of every fortress in the game. Sometimes he jumps at Mario, while sometimes he flies and charges at Mario.
Tanooki Suit. The Tanooki Suit was a suit that gave Mario the ability to fly and turn into a statue. The suit made its debut in "Super Mario Bros. 3". The Hammer Bros Suit also made it's debut in "Super Mario Bros. 3". The Metal Suit made it's debut in "Super Mario 64" and the Frog Suit also made it's debut in "Super Mario Bros. 3".

Boom Boom and Pom Pom. Boom Boom is orange-yellow with a red shell, while Pom Pom is pink and has a yellow ponytail. Boom Boom has somewhat large arms that he uses to hit Mario while spinning. He can also retreat to his shell and spin around the room. Pom Pom uses a boomerang and hovers over Mario's head after she is hit. In some airships, Mario has to fight both Boom Boom and Pom Pom at the same time.

Dry Bowser. First appearing in "New Super Mario Bros.", Dry Bowser is a skeletal version of Bowser that blows out blue fire while moving toward Mario. He also jumps to create a shockwave and will try to hit Mario with his tail. To get rid of him, Mario must hit the switch to make him drop into the lava.

Using the binoculars. The binoculars in a level let you look around the level to see what is coming up. You can zoom in and out with the binoculars to get a better look. If you happen to spot a Toad, he will throw out either a Star Medal or a 1-Up. If you don't zoom in on a Toad that throws out a Star Medal with the binoculars, you will not be able to get that particular Star Medal since it won't appear on its own.
Another challenging aspect of some of the levels in the special worlds is the amount of time you are given to complete the level. In some levels you are given only thirty seconds at the start and must collect Plus Clocks to keep from running out of time. Blue. There are two different colored Plus Clocks: blue and green. The green ones are larger than the blue, and they award 100 seconds. The blue Plus Clocks are more common and only award ten seconds. In some levels they are just laying around, but in others you must kill enemies to get the clocks.

Cosmic Clone. Mario's Cosmic Clone first appears in Special World 1-2. He follows your every move and deals damage if he touches you. Sometimes the Cosmic Clone is referred to as a Shadow Clone since he looks like a shadow with a purple outline that mimics everything you do.

You must rescue him.. Once you have defeated Bowser in World 8 and rescue the princess, you receive a picture and note showing that Luigi has been captured. You are then able to play the special worlds, and you rescue Luigi after defeating the castle in Special World 1. Once you have rescued him, you are then able to play as Luigi and can switch back and forth between the two brothers.
If the help you receive from the special power-up you get after dying five times isn't enough and you continue to die, you are given a P-Wing after ten deaths. What does this allow Mario to do? | Super Mario 3D Land

Fly straight to the flagpole.. The P-Wing first appeared in "Super Mario Bros. 3" for the NES where it gave Mario and Luigi the ability to fly. Here, it is only available after ten deaths in one unconquered level, and only in the first eight worlds. Once you have died ten times, a box with a P-Wing on the side of it will appear. Touching the item will store it, but you can touch the screen to use it. Once you do, Mario will be transported immediately to the flagpole, skipping the rest of the level.

Invincibility Leaf. Once you have died five times in a level that you haven't beaten, a yellow box with a white and gold striped leaf on it appears. Using the Invincibility Leaf inside will give Mario a special Tanooki Suit that makes him invincible for the rest of the level. Unfortunately, this help is not available in the special worlds.

Star Medals. There are three Star Medals in every level, and you can also get Star Medals in Mystery Boxes. These Star Medals are similar to the Star Coins found in "New Super Mario Bros." for the Wii. You can use them to unlock certain levels, Mystery Boxes, and the special worlds.
