Anders Haugen was born in Norway and emigrated to the United States and competed for the United States team. He has the bronze medal in the long hill ski-jumping event from the 1924 Olympics at Chamonix. Due to a scoring error, he was not awarded the medal at the time of the Olympics. At the 50th reunion of the Norwegian Olympic team in 1974, a Norwegian Olympic historian noticed the scoring error. In September of that year, Haugen was given the original bronze medal by the granddaughter of the original recipient.
