Subject: Home Town 'Bests'

What are the three best things about your home town? (I don't mean the town where you were born, but the town you live in now.)

I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and the three best things about Winnipeg are:-
1) Its diversity - every language spoken anywhere in the world has been heard on our streets. People from all over the world have made this city their home, and we also have the largest urban Indigenous population in Canada.
2) Its cultural life - We're known as the city of festivals, from Folklorama which celebrates our ethnic diversity for two weeks every year, to the Festival du Voyageurs which celebrates our history as a major centre of the fur trade in the 18th and 19th centuries, to the Folk Festival (with folk music from around the world), the Children's Festival, the Fringe Festival, and so many more. We also have superb live theatre, a great symphony orchestra, a classical ballet company as well as a modern dance company, art galleries, museums, universities (four), and a lively music scene that includes jazz, rock, folk, and you name it.
3) Community. Winnipeg is made up of what used to be 17 small towns, which amalgamated into one city. We haven't lost that small town feel, though, and there's still a sense of neighbourhood, keeping an eye out for each. Our volunteerism rate is one of the highest in Canada.

Manchester:
1. The Curry Mile. And restaurants in general.
2. The music venues. The Academy is my favourite.
3. The parks.
