Small but annoying....that would have to be a screaming child while trying to eat dinner at a nice restaurant. Reply #4081. Apr 03 23, 1:54 AM |

Cymruambyth: "Autocorrect is a pain because it always wants to 'correct' my spelling to the American version. " There's a setting in your phone that you can switch from American to British spelling as the default. You can also turn off autocorrect, which I did on my previous phone, but not my current phone, which seems to have a larger library. I already mentioned fleas in this thread, so I'll mention mosquitoes. Fortunately, the mosquito sprayer came by a couple days ago and the ditches are almost dry again, because they were getting vicious. Reply #4082. Jun 16 23, 2:15 PM |

Today's topic is the film "Father of the Bride" where the action starts on Father's Day in the USA - in other words, it's a description of the film, not whatever day it is today. Reply #4085. Jun 16 23, 5:24 PM |

Actually, the description says it’s Father’s Day in the US, Einstein. How are you a moderator? Reply #4086. Jun 16 23, 5:37 PM |

Oh, I see whoever is in charge changed it to “round about time.” Nice try. Reply #4087. Jun 16 23, 5:43 PM |

Here's the description...it's not that confusing. It's round about time for Father's Day in the USA; some of them may be acting as Father of the Bride at this very moment. (Topic of the day: June 16, 2023) Reply #4088. Jun 16 23, 5:46 PM |

Gumby, stop. I'm a polite Pom so... please. And thanks Mix, that's very kind. Other people may disagree but let's not start a fight over that! Now, this conversation definitely stops here. Surely someone has a different small but annoying thing? Reply #4095. Jun 19 23, 9:37 AM |

We have a house guest who is the pickiest eater I've ever known. He's 72. Iceburg lettuce is the only lettuce he'll eat. French dressing is the only salad dressing. No mayo for him, it has to be Miracle Whip. He won't eat avocados because they look like armadillos. He has never eaten an artichoke and isn't about to try one now - not even a taste. White bread only. Et cetera, et cetera. I was amused for the first few days, but it's become annoying. Reply #4097. Jun 19 23, 11:42 AM |
