Gary Soto is an award winning author of teen books, novels and poetry. He writes about growing up in the Mexican community. A lot of what he writes is funny and a lot of it is serious. He is a very entertaining author. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Soto Reply #61. Oct 01 09, 11:00 AM |

Terry Pratchett's discworld books are very funny and are full of wizards, witches, vampires, goblins, dwarves and other supernatural creatures. The horror is not too scary, even Death is a bit of a joker. Reply #62. Nov 02 09, 2:25 AM |

Stephen King's "IT", because it is about a clown that turns into your biggest fear and then kills you. Also, the characters make alot of witty remarks. Reply #63. Nov 25 10, 8:47 PM |

Hi, Ben Since you like horror and comedy, I will recommend "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess, "One Hand Clapping", also by Burgess and "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde. All three are dark books; with mixes of humor and irony. If you want a book that will make you laugh out loud, read "The Princess Bride" by William Goldman, it's my favorite book. Reply #64. When I was a teen, there were two books by Robert Swindells that I found both horrifying and funny at the same time: 1)Room 13 - basically a school trip that turns into a vampire hunt, with some witty remarks; 2)Thousand Eyes of Night - involves a vast amount of white rodents (aliens?), I found it funny they could pile up and resemble a human being or whatever. Sent some shivers down my spine... Reply #65. Mar 16 11, 12:24 PM |
