'The Pianist' by Wladyslaw Szpilman made into a film of the same name by Roman Polanski in 2002, starring Adrien Brody as the title role. 'The Three Musketeers' by Alexandre Dumas made into a three part film by Odessa Film Studio in 1978 and starring Mikhail Boyarsky as d'Artagnan. It's in Russian, BTW. Reply #2. Nov 15 22, 11:39 PM |

I loathe the Disney version of 'Winnie-the-Pooh, which bears little or no resemblance to A.A. Milne's classic. The Hollywood version of 'Pride and Prejudice', starring Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson was wide of the mark. Had Jane Austen still been alive, I'm sure she would have sued the producers! John Wyndham's book 'The Midwich Cuckoos' became the movie 'Chidren of the Damned'. I preferred the book - much, much more! Reply #5. Sep 16 24, 10:55 AM |

Not so much a book as a play...'Under Milk Wood', the Dylan Thomas masterpiece was a shambles as a movie with Richard Burton ) who should have known better) and Elizabeth Taylor. Reply #6. Sep 19 24, 8:53 AM |
