Hi all
I'm trying to trace a book I recall reading as a kid at school when I was about 9/10 years old, but I can't remember what it was called or who wrote it.
What I do remember is that it was set over the course of a school year, and was written in the first person, narrated by a child within the class. I'm thinking the age of the class was around 10 years old give or take.
The only other thing I remember is that I'm sure there was a point where one of the things the class did was build a soap box or go-kart to race.
The book would have been published no later than 1993-94.
Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Wish I could help, but the timing is wrong for me. '93-'94 I was a junior in high school and the age you say you were suggests I was unlikely to read such a book due to age range. To be honest it almost sounds like something I vaguely remember from third or fourth grade reading back in the '80s, but that would have been out of the text book and only a part of a story.
