When I used to work at our town's library, I had a saying that eventually caught on with the other employees. "You can't judge an author by one book". That being said, "you can!" Reply #1. Sep 17 24, 10:01 AM |

Virginia Wolf. The book in question was 'Orlando'. It bored me throughout. Reply #2. Nov 16 24, 6:24 AM |

Isaac Asimov. We were supposed to read his "Foundation" back in 10th grade English, but my English teacher gave up on that when the entire class didn't get past the first chapter. He just bored us to death. I later found one of his short stories in my chemistry text book and tried reading that, but the results were the same. He's just to dull for me. It's not that he's a sci-fi writer, I've read various other sci-fi and had little problem. Asimov just isn't for me.. I can say the same for Herman Melville. I forget what it was or if it was in a textbook or what kind of book it was in, but I tried reading one of his short stories during one of my free periods in 12th grade and nearly put myself to sleep from sheer boredom. There's another author that I can't think of their name right now whose had the same effect on me. So boring I just can't stand reading them. Reply #4. Jan 02 25, 12:29 AM |
