Subject: My Five Favourite Musicals

I'm a big fan of musical theatre, both as a performer (former) and audience member. My five favourite musicals, in no particular order, are:-
1: 'Oklahoma!' (I first saw it in London in 1948, with Howard Keel as Curly. Years later I played Ado Annie.)
2: 'Fiddler on the Roof'. (Loved both the stage show - I played Grandma Tzeitel in a stage version - and the film, which starred Topol.)
3: 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' (I played Domina in a stage production, and if you have never seen Richard Lester's film version, run, don't walk, to get your hands on it. It is hysterically funny!).
4: 'Oliver!' (I played Charlotte Sowerberry in a stage version, and loved the film, too.
5: 'The Wizard of Oz' (I played the Wicked Witch of the West - and, no, it was not type-casting! I love this show for all sorts of reasons, but mainly because it was one of the happiest shows I ever worked on - cast and crew got along well, there were no rivalries, just a lovely atmosphere. Plus, the storyline speaks to the child in all of us.)

Okay, your turn. Which are your favourite musicals?
