I suppose that just goes to show that you shouldn't let yourself be intimidated by a quiz topic. Reply #1. Dec 13 14, 9:38 AM |

Hinduism I was trying to see what the next six topics would be when Hinduism was the topic. My cat walked across the iPad screen and suddenly the questions were in front of me. I panicked and skipped the first question, guessed all the rest except for the last question because I knew that answer. I won 8/15. I recently played it in the Champion division and the last question was the same one that I knew. Unfortunately, this time I only scored 6 correct and didn't win. Reply #2. Dec 13 14, 10:36 AM |

Mine was Hinduism, too. I guessed on a bunch of the questions and didn't even bother to check how I placed because I was sure I wouldn't win. Several days later I happened to look at my results page and realized I'd finished first. You just never know... Reply #4. Dec 13 14, 4:31 PM |

ICC World Cup, which I knew nothing about but tried because the scores were so low in my bracket. I knew one question from general knowledge (Dutch = House of Orange), guessed the rest, got 6 right in about 80 seconds. And that was enough for me to win it. Reply #6. Dec 13 14, 7:30 PM |

WWE...I never followed wrestling and I didnt even mean to play it I was just checking the next 6 hours list and, in a sort of drowsy autopilot mode, I instinctually clicked on the start button... "because I am at Fun Trivia and that's what you do here...wait...what did I just click on?...oh crap!...well might as well play and see what happens..." So after three questions where nothin sounded at all familiar I switched over to the "click on quick random answers as fast as you can and hope for a.miracle" thing Reply #7. Dec 19 14, 12:41 PM |

I only got 6 right but it was enough to win a topic that FT as a whole has few genuine experts of. The one where I actually tried would be Australia. I did ok but it is not like I played at a time when Aussies would be asleep and I played early in the hour and got a 12 with a pretty slow time. I was waiting all hour for someone to drop a 14 or 15 and sweep me aside (I was so sure it was coming that I wouldn't have even watched, except a first or second place finish in expert would fulfill a daily challenge so I thought maybe if it stayed slow I could pull second place) Reply #8. Chinese (under language quizzes) and African (under history). Two topics I know very little about. They were won 2 days apart back in May. I have no idea whether my scores were good or everyone else's were really bad. I only beat 8 and 11 players. Reply #9. Dec 19 14, 1:37 PM |

I won the American Presidents category with something like 12/15 in 110 seconds, at an hour when North America was asleep. Reply #11. Dec 19 14, 1:55 PM |

They are all a surprise to me when I fluke one as my speed is hampered by shaky hands. I can only hope to win when the rest of the field falls over like that Australian skater at the Olympics a few years ago.....LOL Reply #12. Dec 19 14, 8:09 PM |

HArd one to answer, because all 39 of my Expert wins are because I actually knew the answers... I suppose Food and Drink and Fast Food were unexpected because of the impossible-to-get-correct-for-anyone-but-a-foodie questions in both categories. Reply #13. Dec 20 14, 12:21 AM |

For me it would be the "mixture: Animated", as I am only casually knowledgeable at best in animated, the real surprise was that I also won it in Champions. This past week I was on top on 5 obscure categories, only to lose all of them at :44! Reply #14. Dec 20 14, 11:11 AM |

Looking through the list a few look different to what I'd expect, South America (although only 18 played), Specialized history (19) and Ancient Egypt (24). All the rest were ones I thought I'd have a chance in, Africa needed at least three goes before I won it but kept getting close. Reply #15. Dec 20 14, 6:20 PM |

Probably Casinos and Gambling. I won that one ONLY because I USED to watch Poker tournaments on ESPN. We don't have television service anymore and I DON'T miss it! Reply #16. Dec 22 14, 4:28 PM |

Backstreet Boys. I won by deciphering their high brow lyrics with some lucky guesses. It was a nice win when I saw that one of the search engineers finished second to me. Reply #19. Mar 11 15, 8:58 PM |
