Subject: 'Champion' but listed in 41-300 group

Hi, forgive me if this has already been brought up before on these boards, I've checked but did not see any mention of it. I've just played this hour's Expert game, 'Cities of the World' is the category, and saw my score being listed in the 41-300 division, I did not recall for certain if I'd won this category before, so I checked my homepage stats, and yes, I did win it in the past, so why am I not in the 'Champions' division? Is it just a glitch which happens now and then, or is there something I am missing? I'm not complaining, it's all trivia(l), but I'm curious nonetheless.

in Reply 1 you have made a sarcastic remark that nobody had replied for over two months. I happen to know that your account read, ‘this user is no longer active’ for most of that time so it seems a very cheap shot to make that remark since as far as I was concerned you would never be back to read any reply! This issue has happened again right now in the Mythology and Legends Expert game as player eyhung is being placed in the 41-300 category when he should be in the Champions category. He already won this category as a Champion earlier this year. Reply #7. Dec 29 18, 3:25 AM |

Maybe this issue has to do with having your computer screen open from a previous game and then clicking Play Now when the game has already changed (you had not won yet in the category from the previous game)? It's just happened to me, I've won tech and computers but am showing in the non-champs division. Glad I didn't get a good score! I wasn't on a different screen before I played, it showed the champions screen... Reply #9. Jan 11 19, 7:49 PM |

I have never had what y'all described happen to me. And I'm in the Champion Division in a whole lot of Expert categories. If I play an Expert category I'm in the Champion Division in, my score goes in the Champion Division standings and if not, it doesn't. I'm not saying what you describe didn't happen. But I am saying it must be a strange glitch and it should probably be reported in the Forums at the time it happens so that Terry can look into what could cause this because I've been here 6 years and played tens of thousands of Expert games and nothing like that ever happened to me. Same here, perhaps it’s a relatively recent glitch. I was very sceptical that it was happening and just assumed that some of the above players were mistaken somehow until I saw it happen with me. I will at some point copy this thread into forums but if someone more eager to do so wishes to then feel free I’d appreciate that. I don’t really visit the forums anymore. Reply #11. I've just had the same experience (1.50 am, 17 Jan GMT). I clicked on to the Central America (geography) game and it indicated that I was playing in the Champions division. Yet after I played the game, I was surprised to see there was no score posted in the Champions list. I then discovered that I had been scored as playing in the 81-110 division. This is despite having won this division game previously (more than two years ago). Bizarre, and a bit of a shame given that for once I was able to post a reasonably brisk time. Reply #12. Further to my last post, what makes the thing even more bizarre is that when I click back to the game it ushers me to the Champions division (where I have registered no score), and not to the 81-110 division where my score is marked. @PHILLVV This gets more and more weird. I had 92 Champions wins before playing the Central America game yesterday. So, not only do I not get credited with playing this at the Champions level, but my overall number of Champions wins is reduced by one in the process. Talk about double jeopardy! Reply #15.
