I've seen off topic questions in Expert games before. To understand what happened, one would need to see the source quiz that the off topic question came from. The database for Expert games is assembled from quizzes in the category or subcategory the Expert game covers. Sometimes a quiz will be assigned to a particular category even if it contains a few questions that are off topic for that category. That is unfortunate, but it depends on an editorial decision that was made at the time the quiz was accepted. The kind off off topic question in Expert games that really burns me is when I am playing European History (or a subcategory of that) and see some question on a soccer (football) match. I know the Europeans take their soccer seriously, but dagnab it! Soccer scores aren't history. They are sports. Soccer scores don't belong in history quizzes no matter how seriously Europeans take their soccer. Now if a political leader was assassinated at a soccer match, maybe the game itself could be considered a legitimate historical event, but even then the score would not be the issue. Reply #1.
