Todd can you specify who these people are as a number of the non-US people probably won't know much about Kinison, Lange and Carrot Top (Scott Thompson?) although they are connected with Howard Stern he is not that well known outside the US. Regards, Tin Reply #2. Jan 07 07, 10:21 PM |

Billy Connolly without a doubt is the funniest and most entertaining for me. For you Americans he is a Scottish Comedian and talks about everyday things that you can relate to and therefore you find funny. A comic genius as far as I am concerned. Reply #3. Jan 17 07, 3:12 PM |

Good topic Tin, and it makes a nice change for this board to discuss something other than, so called, wrestling. OK, in no order at all, my 10 are: Billy Connolly Jasper Carrot ( UK comedian and comic singer/actor ) Helen Mirren ( Shouldn't need any explanation ) Ronnie Barker ( UK actor/comedian ) Judith Durham ( ex The Seekers, and still sounding and looking as good at 60 as she did 35 years ago ) Lisa Kudrow ( US actress, and in the list because I find her attractive ) Peter Gabriel ( Former lead singer with Genesis ) Pink Floyd Keith Floyd ( Alcoholic UK TV celebrity chef ) Jim Davidson ( Similar type to Billy Connolly, but in an English way ) Reply #4. I must disagree with you about Jim Davidson who is (very much) in the camp of old style stand-up comedians, Jimmy Tarbuck and Frank Carson being similar examples. I will list mine : Billy Connolly; Bill Hicks (late US comedian); Stephen Fry (actor/writer/director); Peter Ustinov (actor/writer/director/raconteur); David Niven (actor/writer/raconteur); PJ O'Rourke (US writer); Terry Pratchett (UK writer); Ronnie Barker (writer/actor/comedian); The Monty Python Team (Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Carol Cleveland, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, Eric Idle and Michael Palin); The Top Gear Team (Jeremy Clarkson, Richard 'Hamster' Hammond, James 'Captain Slow' May). When I think of entertainers, I think of someone in front of an audience. Elvis, Shirley MacClaine, Jay Leno or Johnny Carson. These are good entertainers. Kept us entertained with just a microphone and a dance step or two. Reply #8. Feb 22 07, 2:25 PM |
