Suspiria directed by Dario Argento. It is shot so beautifully, it makes the brutality a work of art. Especially the "Candy- Colored Kill". Despair. Reply #42. Apr 10 14, 2:39 AM |

"The Sting" is an excellent movie choice. You REALLY have to be awake and pay attention to this movie. You have to be aware of everything and everybody in this movie. If you blink...you'll miss something. The greatest of all caper movies. Beats the Ocean's 11 movies hands down...and those weren't bad :) Reply #43. Apr 17 14, 12:19 AM |

There were a lot of wonderful suggestions listed here. My personal favorite is "Arsenic and Old Lace"; Cary Grant really shines and makes this movie a must see especially around Halloween. Todd Reply #46. Sep 28 14, 9:45 AM |

Two of my favorites are Rosemary's Baby and The Boys From Brazil. They're both based on books by Ira Levin. Reply #48. Nov 30 14, 9:42 PM |

The Rookie starring Dennis Quaid which is a baseball movie. Very good movie about dreams coming true. The Snitch starring Dwayne Johnson about a man trying to save his son. Gridiron Gang again starring Dwayne Johnson. I love all of Tyler Perry's movies starring Madea :-): Madea goes to jail, Madea Witness Protection, Madea's Family Reunion, etc. Reply #49. A Love Song For Bobby Long with Scarlett Johansson and John Travolta, at his best (imho) and filmed in New Orleans before Katrina. The Other Sister with Diane Keaton and Juliette Lewis, both are heartwarming films. Reply #51. Jan 31 15, 9:27 PM |

There are a lot of movies I could nominate, but I have to say that "The Ultimate Solution of Grace Quigley" which was Katherine Hepburn's last starring role, would be up there at the top. Reply #52. Jan 31 15, 9:40 PM |

For me, it's probably "Submarine". Not sure why, but it's probably the one film that really connected to me deeply, which is unusual because it's not like I can relate THAT much to the plot, but something about it really resonated with me. It's also genuinely hilarious, so that helps. It's probably the one time I can think of where the movie beats the book it was based on, in my opinion (although the book is still brilliant). Highly recommend it if you haven't seen it. Reply #53. Jan 31 15, 10:45 PM |

"61* " Barry Pepper as Roger Maris, who was chasing Babe Ruth's single season home run record. The way the fans and New York media treated him was horrible. Although I was not around at the time, I can believe that the story was pretty close to accurate. Reply #56. Dec 08 17, 11:48 AM |

"Key Largo" with Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Becall, and Edward G. Robinson. The film is black and white, but so beautiful with light and shadow. It speaks to the mood of a post WWII America, with its theme of good vs. evil played out against a terrific hurricane striking an isolated hotel in the Florida Keys. Claire Trevor is outstanding as an alcoholic ex-torch singer being sadistically tormented by "Rocko." What really appeals to me about this film is that all the major players are faced with choices they have made or will have to make in order to survive. Reply #59. Mar 04 18, 6:46 AM |
