The first movie I have a conscious memory of seeing was "The Parent Trap" -- the original, with Haley Mills. Most likely, I saw various Disney films prior to that, but this was the first that my mother left me and my brother in the care of the theatre matron, while she (my mother) went shopping. Reply #4. I think it was "The Exorcist". I had a demented father who made us kids watch it. I remember being scared to death & I didn't understand a lot of it back then, thank goodness! That is definitely NOT a movie for kids to watch! YIKES! Reply #18. Mar 26 15, 10:11 PM |

"Journey to the Center of the Earth" in 1959/60. It stands out as my first trip to a theatre, but I was too young to be there and didn't really watch. I also remember my mother taking all us kids to a drive-in so she could see "Inherit the Wind". I must have been able to read because I remember the credits. Once again, didn't watch the movie.
