I like Pink too, but probably my favorite all time singer would have been Freddie Mercury from Queen. What a shame he is gone. Reply #9. Feb 08 09, 9:46 AM |

Cym, You're a fan of The Hawk! I love just about everything The Band did, so that was how I first was exposed to Ronnie Hawkins. There's a fantastic recording of "Who Do You Love?" on"The Last Waltz". It was The Band's farewell performance, filmed by Scorsese, and the soundtrack is phenomenal. Joni Mitchell and many of your Canadian neighbours are featured, as well. One of my favourite albums and DVDs. You're such a hipster :) Reply #12. Feb 10 09, 12:36 AM |

Clare, Ronnie is an iconic figure in Canada (he's lived here since 1958 on a farm near Peterborough, Ontario). He is a pancreatic cancer survivor, a great humanitarian, and he's still going strong at age 74. Love the Hawk, love The Band (Big Pink is one of my favourite albums. I'm not sure that I'd describe myself as a hipster, although my oldest grandson has been heard to tell friends that I'm a "rocking grandma"! Reply #13. Feb 11 09, 11:56 PM |
