I sort of like them being a bit vague... Better challenge. ;-) Reply #42. Feb 12 10, 10:00 AM |

"I may never get all 30 right again." What could be better than meeting the requirements and not getting credit? Being right. Reply #43. Feb 12 10, 1:29 PM |

It's my favourite game on FT at present - I love the trickiness of it and the "opposites" section in particular. Reply #49. Feb 25 10, 12:17 PM |

Loving the Mind Melt too. It's the first one I do on rollover. Got 30/30 a few times but it takes me 5-6mins. Reply #50. Mar 01 10, 2:27 AM |

I got the badge today, been trying for ages. The game really makes you think. I like it Reply #51. Mar 02 10, 3:42 PM |

The vague ones normally fell into place by elimination and is similar to one type of IQ test question format- but I've been doing word games on paper as long as I remember and fell naturally into this one, as long as there aren't any actual ambiguities or errors which no one can overcome it seems to work fine however they fall, and those are eliminated once reported till too few remain to spoil things. And it certainly both makes you think and improves the vocabulary. Reply #52. Mar 05 10, 8:23 AM |

I love this game - so different from everything else on the site. I was so chuffed when I got my badge for 30/30! Reply #53. Mar 09 10, 6:52 AM |

Is it just me or is it getting more obscure? For example hobnail is related to provide hobnail means supply with hobnails provide means provide or furnish with How are you supposed to know that this is the verb "hobnail" instead of the much more usual noun? Still enjoying most of it though! Reply #54. Mar 23 10, 10:40 AM |

I think it is getting more obscure... I haven't had thirty in a long time. Not only that, people are getting better, so my scores of 200 seconds aren't coming close to the times needed for the badge. Reply #55. Mar 23 10, 10:49 AM |

Arrgh - really difficult today took me 400 seconds (thinking not Googling!) to score 23. Bummer! Reply #58. Mar 25 10, 10:40 AM |

I'm not really seeing much of a difference from the beginning - there always were several obscure words, and a few relationships which were, to say the least, not immediately obvious. I really love this game. I even love its imperfections and difficulties - they prompt the player to think laterally. Reply #59. Mar 25 10, 11:21 AM |

I'm able to hit 30/30 most days but missed one at the end yesterday (i.e. switched two answers in the "relationships" section and ended up with 28/30). I think it just depends on luck of the draw, and if you're more familiar (or not) with the words presented in that set. For example, today I had a nice, clean run...got 30/30 in under 150 seconds, a personal best I believe. Reply #60. Mar 25 10, 11:25 AM |
