Yes it does, Schoonie. The easy and difficult sets are pretty balanced. Those don't matter what difficulty you are in. As far as champs go, they should have a tougher time, because, after all, they are champs. Reply #21. Feb 09 10, 2:59 PM |

And that is what I mean, Schoonie. The top 10 of the top 30 who don't have the badge. If the champs constantly got more points, how on earth would anybody who is not yet a champ (those who have NOT won the badge), EVER win? The champs would dominate the top 30 each and every month, simply because they get more points a game. Doesn't seem fair, if you ask me. Reply #22. Feb 09 10, 3:00 PM |

That's why you can't combine whozit points overall with the points to get the monthly badge. They need to be separated. How? I have no clue. BTW, most of your problem back then, salami, was because you had the 1-40 division having the easy set yet racking up high average scores and competing for the monthly badge (even when, by the posted rules, they shouldn't have been). It was only like that in WAI. As far as I know, that never got fixed. And here we are today. :) Reply #23. Feb 09 10, 3:06 PM |

Those from level 1-7, or whatever, who had an easier set, WEREN'T part of the monthly badges. Those in the higher range did compete, with players, like myself, who didn't have a chance. Now, you can be level 100, and in the easy range, but STILL compete for the monthly badge, because, although they are easier questions, it is still hard to win, because most who win the monthly will win each day nearly every day. I am in the easy division. I have less than half of what the top 100 players have in total whozits, and have played just as often. Now tell me, is it fair now? I have easier questions, and I STILL am doing horrible. Difficulty does not matter. Now look at Miffy42. WAY more than me, champ level. No, it doesn't matter what difficulty. It isn't any easier for those in MY division than those in the Champ division. Reply #24. Feb 09 10, 3:13 PM |

My question is then this, Schoonie. Why is Mind Melt fair? Some players will be put in a division with near impossible questions, and 28 in 500 seconds might win... Those who might have an easier question set will get 30 in 300 seconds and still not win. Same with daily game. And the world game. Why is Who Am I any different? The only difference is... When you start the Who Am I, you KNOW whether you will have an easy set or a difficult set, whereas the other games you don't know until you're PLAYING it. I would think that, if you want to complain about Who Am I, you should complain about ALL the games, because they ALL do this. I'm sorry if that seems offensive, but it's true. I just don't see why the Who Am I matters more than the others? :-) Reply #25. Feb 09 10, 3:18 PM |

I was going to type something else but in the meantime came up with a simpler solution - or at least band-aid. Set up the divisions across the board so it's generally the same number of people for each breakdown in divisions across the board: 40-60 or whatever is normal at the end of a given day. I guess you just have to anticipate how many you're going to need for the higher divisions. With the monthly badge, actually, I'm not completely sure how that's going to work. The one thing I really like is that now this game is based purely on ability, not on volume of play. Really, keep in mind this thread is just about an oddity with the scoring, something that made me go hmmm. :) Overall, I love the change in this game to a daily game - it's great. I had missed playing it. Reply #26. Feb 09 10, 3:41 PM |

I see what you're saying, Schoonie, and I see how it can be kind of irritating... I think Terry probably has his ways, and it will probably work out in the end. He knows how to get things fair, I suspect it will all work out. :-) Reply #27. Feb 09 10, 3:46 PM |

Just changing Who Am I to a daily game is great on its own. Agreed. Everything is always a little screwy the first few weeks anyways. I'm sure everything will eventually iron itself out over the next few months. And if not, well, one of us will probably let Terry know about it. :) Reply #28. Feb 09 10, 3:58 PM |
