Subject: Quiz corrections to 'inactive' authors.

Posted by: Konfuzed

I have just submitted a correction notice on a quiz that was made by a player who has been inactive for over five years (& so unlikely to re-emerge in the near future). I'm unsure if this notice will be received and acted upon by an administrator or whether it will wait until/if the author returns to Funtrivia.

All correction notes that are sent are seen by editors, so errors can be taken care of.

Don't worry about it, and please keep sending those corrections.

An editor sees every correction note. We can also see how long it has been since the quiz author was last on the site. If it's longer than a couple of months, the editor will endeavor to fix the quiz.

These quizzes will not go offline unless the problem really is unfixable. Personally, I've developed amazing research skills over the years because of this - trying to determine exactly who said what, in a book I've never read, for example.

The editors, because of this, really appreciate it if correction notes come with some backup. A note saying "the answer to question 6 is wrong" is not too useful to us, whereas one saying "On page 324, Kate says 'No, I'll wear the red dress because the green one is at the cleaners' so your answer of 'green' to question 6 is clearly incorrect" is much better. The more we have to go on, the easier it is to pinpoint the problem, and come up with a solution.

So, always send a correction, through the link provided, if you find a problem with a quiz. It's the only way that problem will be fixed. If you use the links, the editors have all the information they need, at their fingertips, to start work on fixing things. If you report the problems somewhere else - in this thread for example - the whole thing becomes much more difficult, because we have to track down the quiz.

Thank you very much, in this case it was a grammatical error. I've taken on board the useful tip about backing up information when submitting corrections. Cheers.
