It's a time of year when us Kiwis and Aussies acknowledge the brave souls who "...In 1915, my country said, Son;It's time you stopped rambling, there's work to be done..."

For all those who offered up their life and for those whom this meant paying the ultimate price...

We will remember them

I am watching a very good series on YouTube called "The Great War - Week By Week." The title tells all there is to tell. It is about what happened each week during WWI. WWI was, in many ways, worse than WWII. The incompetence of the generals on both sides was unbelievable. How they got thousands of men to charge across open fields in the face of machine gun fire is beyond me. Just millions of wasted lives,, men who died for no good reason. One can at least argue that WWII was fought for some noble purpose, but WWI was just wholesale slaughter for no reason at all.
