I don't know much, either, I can highly recommend Mark Zusak's "The Book Thief" which I have read and it is great and maybe you should check out the 2013 Man Booker Prize which went to New Zealander Eleanor Catton and her book "The Luminaries". Reply #1. Feb 21 14, 7:27 AM |

It depends on what type of Novel you like, whether it is adventure, sagas, thrillers etc. Book by any of the following Australian authors, Tim Winton, Patrick White, Thomas Keneally, Bryce Courtney or Maurice West are always a good read. Can recommend "The Shoes of the Fisherman" by Maurice West There are many to choose from. Reply #2. Feb 21 14, 8:17 AM |

Thank you both for the suggested authors, I'll try some of them, maybe let you know my impressions afterward. Reply #3. Feb 22 14, 7:30 PM |

A Fortunate Life is a good read. Peter Carey is well known and had a movie made out of one book starring Cate Blanchett. Chopper Read is a criminal who wrote books about his adventures. The Power of One by Bryce Courtney and a couple of others are good. Reply #4. Feb 25 14, 10:14 AM |

Thank you mountaingoat, it seems I have a lot of reading ahead. I hope I'll find some of this books on my trips abroad, I'm going to London next week, so my chances are good. I still like to browse in a bookstore instead of purchasing books on amazon. Reply #5. Feb 25 14, 12:23 PM |
