Subject: What quiz series have you written?

Posted by: Cuish

Even if itâ??s as few as two?

As for me, I did a 'Name the Film' Bond quiz a couple of years ago that was split into two parts and then at the moment Iâ??ve just done an American President one that focuses on those in the 19th century and those in the 20th century. The former one just went online yesterday and Iâ??m pretty surprised (or should I say pleased?) that people have responded pretty well to it (with ratings and such) in spite of not getting good scores on it.

How about you?

I did A-Z series, every book of the Bible series, and am currently working on a quiz for each episode of "Cheers".

I have two quizzes in a group called "Collect the Century". The USPS released a set of 10 stamps for each decade starting in 1900-1999. I just need to get motivated to finish! The ratings are good and the quizzes are 'tough' !

I have a "Wonderful World" series.

Wonderful World of NASCAR
Wonderful World of Teen Television
Wonderful World of Music
Wonderful World of Tony Gwynn, Sr. (1960-2014)

I hope to do at least one for each category.

I will end with a quiz called "The Wonderful World of Disney" probably about the life of Walt Disney.

My team, Revenge of the Llamas, are in the midst of writing a series of literature quizzes hosted by The Llama Book Club. We currently have two, with more in progress. The first two are mixed quizzes in Mystery & Detective Fiction, and Science Fiction called "It's a Mystery to Me!" and "Llamas in Space", respectively.

I'm working on a new series now, inspired by the 'Half Man Half Biscuit's Sporting Celebrities' quiz. It's a series of quizzes with questions themed around songs or lyrics by a particular band. I'm doing a Sci/Tech one for Space at the moment, and I've got a Geography one for Tori Amos and a Literature one for Regina Spektor or the Manics - can't decide which - planned as well.

I wrote an "All About" series, all about NFL teams. I did these back in 2008. Not sure if I did one on each though. I might have to look into that. :)

If you can call 2 quizzes a series, then I've done two.

One called "The Wives of Kings..." - I've covered British Henrys and Edwards so far.

The other is in the alphabetics category and is quizzes with 10 questions where each answer falls into 2 different FunTrivia categories - but I've only got O and P done, so just 24 more to go (gulp!)

Changed my mind, the Sci/Tech one looks like it's going to be for Bon Jovi. And I just remembered that I did a Hobbies quiz based on that song from Lazytown about cake.

I'm working on doing a chronology of quizzes with one question each on every episode of the animated TMNT series from 1987. It'll be 20 quizzes when it's done.

Oh, I've also slowly been doing a "Doing it Detroit Style" series with various things about the city. Not every quiz is branded that exactly, but a series in theme still.

And I've done the characters of the original Power Rangers, with the original six rangers anyway. There were a few other replacement rangers I could do quizzes on but haven't yet.

If a category counts as a series as far as I know my fascination with scatological topics and bodily functions led to the toilets and toilet paper category being created once I'd added a few.to the existing ones.

I've just finished a series which is designed to help people who find cryptic clues confusing. There are lots of examples and explanations to help you.

Despite the, so far, poor performance of my introductory quiz on "To Serve Them All My Days" by R. F. Delderfield, I have planned out nine quizzes on the book; one for each section.

I have come to the conclusion that I need to ignore what everyone else thinks and write quizzes that I like. If I am happy with them I can be content with that.

here are sixteen quizzes in my "Cooking Terms" series (between January of 2007 and, most recently, July of 2014) and I am not finished yet, just occupied with other things.

There are nine quizzes in my "Three of a Kind" series on-line, one pending editing, and two pending submission. These are all of the sort "What do A and B and C have in common?" They are in the General Knowledge, Mixed, Three of a Kind category. I have several dozen more of these on the drawing board back in the Widget Factory.

My suspicion is that players will let an author know when the spark has gone out of a series by failing to rate the most recent one highly. As this has yet to happen to either of my series, I will continue to produce them.

lonely-lady, just saw your post. I agree entirely.

One thing I found happening with some of my quizzes on out of print books is that fan groups for the author would find my quizzes, and gradually over the years word would spread.

I have several quizzes that get almost no FT member play, but have a small but steady trickle of guest players. I tracked down the place where two of them were being promoted, and introduced myself - it was very nice.
