This a copy of a post I did earlier, somewhere else. Deep History kindly let me know of the posting on the People board, so it rose from the crypt and sauntered over here. I think this is the first time I started a new thread and it will probably be my last. The last of the great horror icons is gone. Christopher Lee passed away on June 7, 2015 at the age of 93. I say the last, because the only other horror actors to match his impact on the genre preceded him to eternal rest. Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney Jr., Vincent Price, Peter Cushing and now Christopher Lee. They were what I looked forward to everyday growing up, when I got home from school. I first saw him in "The Horror of Dracula" (edited of course) on tv on "Shock Theatre" the weekly Saturday afternoon horror movie show (around 1967), but in my opinion his best work was "The Wicker Man". I know this probably belongs on the movies board, but I wanted to see it at least once on the "Big Screen". Condolences to his family ~ Despair. Reply #1. Jun 12 15, 12:05 AM |

What a remarkable life and career he had, his contributions to cinema will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Reply #2. Jun 12 15, 6:00 AM |
