This is what David wrote. I have written back, both on his website and via FT mail, to thank him for his kindness, and to clarify his wishes, but it appears to me that he's happy for us to continue posting his crossword. Take a look and tell me if I've got it wrong: Hi, I thought I'd drop you a line and introduce myself. I'm delighted that the group of solvers here are taking the Stickler Weekly challenge. My website stats listed fun trivia as a source of visitors, so I wanted to know how that was coming about. I'd like to ask that when a link is posted to The Stickler Weekly PDF and/or interactive puzzle, that a link at the higher level is posted too (that is, www.stickler.com.au), and maybe a mention that clue hints are available for each puzzle and that a downloadable worked solution can also be obtained the following week. It's great that this group exists on the fun trivia website, but I want to make sure solvers have access to the full Stickler experience. I'm always happy to answer questions about my clues, but I do prefer that to take place on my website. Again, many thanks for solving the Stickler - it's such a buzz to find out my crossword has been discovered by more people. David Stickley The Stickler Reply #1885. Jan 29 18, 10:45 PM |

That's interesting Sue, and yes I reckon David Stickley is more than pleased with your actions. I wonder if he knows of Tim Moorey, who has been the compiler of "The Week" crossword for many a year. Both crosswords are of similar quality in my view. Reply #1887. Jan 30 18, 10:31 AM |

Moonraker: Now that's odd, I'm unable to open the link from you Sue, but CAN open the one I've copied and pasted above. That happens sometimes - and remember we could each proceed separately with the crossword online, but would never be able to view each other's work. Try copying and pasting your link here, Ivor. Let's test it out. Reply #1893. Jan 30 18, 4:20 PM |
