Subject: Fan theory: Was Nagini once a human?

Just heard about this. An un-named female character in the new “Fantastic Beasts” movie is described as a Maledictus, the carrier of a blood curse that will ultimately turn her permanently into an animal. Could it be possible that this woman later becomes Voldemort’s pet snake?

Yes. It's only said once when you first see her, but the character's name is definitely Nagini. We don't yet know how or why she ends up allied to Voldemort, but since he can speak parseltongue and control snakes there's a fair chance it's against her will, as she's not exactly a 'bad guy' in The Crimes Of Grindelwald, although we know any character has the potential to choose either side and may be manipulated or swayed by the course of events.

Fantastic Beasts makes it clear that she was once a human performing in a circus. She could turn into a snake and then back to human. But a time would come when she would no longer turn back to human. This was a curse of some sort. No explanation for how she ended up with Voldemort.
