I will take Neils Bohr, can we add additional words to those two simple words like using title, 'The Life of Neils Bohr' or can we just use Bohr and some additional word as title like, 'Bohr's Atomic Model'? Or simply we have to write quiz title 'Neils Bohr'. It does not matters to me, I will be picking Bohr! Reply #1. May 19 18, 6:17 AM |

I think 'Life of Niels Bohr' is allowed but not the 'Bohr's Atomic Model'! Isn't it? Reply #3. May 19 18, 9:42 AM |

LoveAnimals, the exact word or words you choose must be in the title, along with any other words you want. If you choose Niels Bohr, both of his names must be there, not just his surname. And, of course, it doesn't have to be about him or his work. Perhaps 'Niels Bohr or a Real Bore?' could be used for a quiz about shaggy dog stories, for example. Me, I'd probably cover the history of development of our understanding of atomic structure, 'Before and After Niels Bohr'. But I am not claiming it, as I really have a long list of ideas on which I want to wkr right now! Reply #6. May 19 18, 4:44 PM |

Thanks! I will be working on quiz with title, 'True or False: Neils Bohr', a quiz on his life after my quiz 'True or False: Gandhi' will be up to point. Thanks again! Reply #8. May 19 18, 10:16 PM |

I very strongly recommend speaking to an editor in your category of choice as, in many cases, T/F quizzes are disallowed, especially without prior discussion. Reply #9. May 19 18, 10:57 PM |

Ok, but a I never got a reply from editor of that category for my query, perhaps he don't check mails on FT, and one of the editor in that category is inactive zince April 15 this year. Don't know what to do? Certainly it is the People category! Reply #10. May 19 18, 11:01 PM |

For Gandhi one I had already discussed with an Editor. Perhaps if the quiz on Neils Bohr is not acceptable in People category, it may be placed in General: True or False category? Reply #11. May 19 18, 11:04 PM |

If it's about Niels Bohr, it makes sense in the 'Scientists & Inventors A-Z' section of People. General is for General quizzes. I recommend focusing on writing with a more concise focus. If the quiz has to end up in the General category, it implies that it's not going to be much about Niels Bohr at all. Reply #12. May 19 18, 11:35 PM |

I was planning for same category you mentioned and it would completely be about him! Just wondering how I am going to discuss about it to an Editor! Reply #13. May 19 18, 11:51 PM |

The category guidelines for People, as can be found in Author Central, include: Quizzes should be mainly multiple choice, and the overall total of fill-in-the-blank (FITB), true/false, yes/no questions combined should not exceed one-fifth of the questions in any quiz. With that statement in place, I doubt the editors will be interested in a quiz that is completely True-False. Rather than contacting them to ask about something that is almost certainly not going to work, why not just start thinking about constructing some multiple-choice questions? They may take a bit mor effort, but they are also generally more interesting questions for players, and lead to higher ratings. Reply #14. May 20 18, 12:24 AM |

I typically agree with this. Unless there's a real gimmick to the quiz or it's part of an established series, I tend to find that T/F quizzes are rated more harshly as the players that take them past the initial first few weeks have an easier time just getting points from them. We get very few quizzes in the overall T/F category in General, let alone anywhere else. Reply #15. May 20 18, 12:59 AM |
