Express Pass

I have ONE Express Pass here. Maybe you need it; maybe you don't. Feel free just to say no.

If you want it, you need to write a 25-question quiz. It should be an A-Z-style quiz (alphabetic) and it should be sent to the Entertainment category. It goes without saying that it should be a Multiple Choice template (not Match). Effectively, q1 would be A, q2 would be B, etc.

I know. Big ask. But when I only have one to give, the stakes need to be high.

--------------

This task was not completed by any of the teams.

For supplementary quizzes, try these:
[Kankurette] - Cat's Entertainment
[Pollucci19] - A Marvellous Apocalypse

Leg #4, Clue #3 - Harry Potter

Route Info

For this task, we're going to turn our focus to one, singular famous figure: 'The Boy Who Lived'.

Undeniably, the fictional character Harry Potter has been a cultural icon for the past twenty years. If you know your pop culture, then you know at least something about J.K. Rowling's creation.

For this task, you need to write a Harry Potter-themed quiz in the proper For Children subcategory (or, alternatively, those in the Movies or Video Games sections) to Fire-BOLT out of here. If you keep the quiz in the For Children section, you'll get a thirty minute time credit at the next Pit Stop.

-----------------

1. ALEC-24 - [Looney_Tunes] - To All the Girls in Harry’s Life
2. The Drop Bears - [1nn1] - Harry Potter and the Decade of Spells
3. The Leftovers - [Shadowmyst2004] - Harry Potter and the “Spell”ing Test
4. The Rockettes - [Pagea] - They Taught Him All He Knows
5. 1-A - [Dcpddc478] - People in Harry Potter
6. What a Team - [LadyNym] - A Kind of Magic
7. The Eggtetts - [Emiloony] - You're a Lizard Harry
8. 3 Yanks and a Brit - [Eburge] - Staff and Students of Slytherin
9. The Four Winds - [Zorba_Scank] - The Winds Whisk Harry Off to the Zoo

For supplementary quizzes, try these:
[Shadowmyst2004] - Harry Potter and the “Spell”ing Test Part 2
[Kyleisalive] - Getting Somewhere With "Harry Potter"

Leg #4, Clue #4 - 'Sorting'

Road Block

A Road Block is a task that only one member of your team may complete. To receive your next clue, said member will need to notify me personally via PM on the main site to claim the challenge. They may not switch team members and they may not request help to complete the task— this is all on them.

For this task, the choice is yours: who wants to get sorted?

-----------------

If you know Harry Potter (and you might not, and that's okay!) then you know that students at Hogwarts, the magical school in the series, get sorted into one of four houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. This is done based on the whims of a hat that analyzes their personalities. You know, like how sorting works in real life.

For this task, I'm going to sort you.

If your profile states that you are from North or South America: You're in Ravenclaw.
If your profile states that you are from Europe or Africa: You're in Gryffindor.
If your profile states that you are from Asia or Oceania: You're in Slytherin.
If your profile doesn't give a location: You're in Hufflepuff. Sorry.

For this task, you must write a quiz and that quiz's title must contain the word 'Magic'. The title is not entirely yours though. All good magic stems from an incantation, so you're going to pull your title from pop culture.

Ravenclaws, your title must contain the word 'Magic', but it must be from a famous song title of your choosing.
Gryffindor, your title must contain the word 'Magic', but it must be from a famous movie title of your choosing.
Slytherin, your title must contain the word 'Magic', but it must be from a famous book title of your choosing.

Hufflepuffs...update your profile. For now, your title must contain the word 'Magic', but it must be from a video game title of your choosing.

Pottermore, eat your heart out.

-----------------

1. ALEC-24 - [Ponycargirl]- You Can Do Magic
2. The Leftovers - [ClaudiaCat] - The Magic Pudding
3. The Rockettes - [Rossian] - Practical Magic
4. The Drop Bears - [1nn1] - ”The Magic Pudding”
5. 1-A - [Apathy100] - Do You Believe in Magic?
6. 3 Yanks and a Brit - [PDAZ] - Magic Bus
7. The Eggtetts - [Goodreporter] - Magic Carpet Ride
8. What a Team - [AcrylicInk] - Strange Magic
9. The Four Winds - [JanIQ] - Practical Magic

For supplementary quizzes, try these:

[Kyleisalive] - Black Magic Woman

LEG #4, PIT STOP

A Pit Stop is a period of rest at which teams can take a short reprieve from the fast-paced race around FunTrivia. Here, their quizzes from the previous leg can continue to go online and they will depart at a specific time based on their advantages/penalties.

For this leg of the race, each correction notice results in a 30 minute time penalty.

Teams with quizzes still in the queue by the start of Leg 4 must keep their quizzes submitted. While that team member will not be able to submit until said quiz is placed online, they will not receive any penalties. Should they receive corrections on their late quiz, it shall be applied to the next Pit Stop (30 minutes per correction). Unfortunately, on the open tasks allowing for a choice amongst all of the categories, it is luck of the draw. Please use your best judgment when submitting to busy categories. ;)

------

Leg 5 of the Race will commence on September 14th at 10:00pm (FST). Due to time credits, several teams will leave before the scheduled start time.

Teams Departing at September 14, 9:30pm FST include:
ALEC-24

Teams Departing at September 14, 10:00pm FST include:
The Leftovers
The Rockettes
3 Yanks and a Brit
The Eggtetts
What a Team

Teams Departing at September 14, 10:30pm FST include:

Leg #5, Clue #1 - 'Team History'

Road Block

A Road Block is a task that only one member of your team may complete. To receive your next clue, said member will need to notify me personally via PM on the main site to claim the challenge. They may not switch team members and they may not request help to complete the task— this is all on them.

For this task, the choice is yours: who knows their team more than they know themselves?

-----------------

Lucky you, author! For this task, half of the work is already done for you since your teammates are the deciding factor of your topic.

Head to the History category! For this task, you're going to need to write a quiz about the history of one of your teammates' countries of origin. Any one of your teammates is fine, but you may NOT select someone who lives in the same country as you do unless there are no other options (ie. all of your teammates are in the same country). You must, specifically, use the country listed on their user profile.

1. ALEC-24 - [Joepetz] - Events in Australian History
2. The Leftovers - [Bernie73] - 10 Dates in 20th Century Australian History

Leg #5, Clue #2 - 'Inside the Body'

Road Block

A Road Block is a task that only one member of your team may complete. To receive your next clue, said member will need to notify me personally via PM on the main site to claim the challenge. They may not switch team members and they may not request help to complete the task— this is all on them.

For this task, the choice is yours: who knows their team-- inside and out?

NOTE: If any of your team members have yet to complete a Road Block, they MUST complete this task.

-----------------

For this task, you simply need to know about what makes people. While the previous Road Block looked at external forces that shape humanity, your task here is to look at the internal side of humanity.

What you need to do is head to the Sci/Tech category. There, you must write a quiz in the Health and Human Biology subcategory (or any one of its subcategories) OR the Biology subcategory. You're looking at a niche area of science, but just imagine how much you'll know about yourself by the end!

Sometimes, all you need to do is look inside yourself.

Leg #5, Clue #3 - Common Bond

Route Info

One of the toughest challenges in the General category is writing a well-received and well-structured quiz in the Common Bond subcategory because it requires tact and style. Your task here is to submit one quiz to that section. Ten questions.

-----------------

1. ALEC-24 - [WesleyCrusher] - Wouldn’t You Rather Be There?
2. The Rockettes - [Fifiona81] - An Amazing Common Bond Quiz
3. The Drop Bears - [Ozzz2002] - A Drop Bear’s Common Bond

Leg #5, Clue #4 - Animals

Route Info

It's nice to spend a leg of the race exploring some fairly general topics.
At this point we've already seen our way through History, Sci/Tech, and General.
For this task, the new focus is Animals.

What you need to do for this task is write a quiz with an animal in the title. If you write a quiz in the Animals category, then you'll get a thirty minute time credit at the next Pit Stop. However, if you write a quiz and the animal in the title is the same as another team's, then both teams will receive a thirty minute time penalty at the next Pit Stop.

-----------------

1. ALEC-24 - [Ponycargirl] - Orangutans are Orange!
2. The Rockettes - [Mlcmlc] - Sweet as a Honey Badger?
3. The Drop Bears - [Pollucci19] - Flossy the Frill Neck Lizard Finds a Friend

Leg #4, Clue #5 - 'Themes or Teams'

Detour

A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with their own pros and cons. Some Detour tasks may prove to be better options for teams depending on their strengths and weaknesses, but some choices may facilitate speedier or more creative results. Only one of these quizzes needs to be completed.

-----------------

Themes – Using an Author Challenge title (found here), write a quiz in any subcategory on the site that contains the word 'Theme', 'Themed' or 'Thematic'. The quiz must be ten questions and using the multiple choice or photo template. You're writing for a broad audience, but if you're deftly able to handle a topic you dig up, this should be a quick task.

Teams – Make your way to the Sports category. For this task, if you're inclined to the topic, write a quiz about any single sports team in any sport. The topic may be more niche, but if you're a Sports fan, you'll probably make short work of it.

-----------------

Themes
1. ALEC-24 - [Looney_Tunes] - Friends in Need
2. The Rockettes - [Pagea] - Ice Cold
3. The Drop Bears - [1nn1] - Take It For Granite
4. The Eggtetts - [Creedy] - Top Ten Reasons to Recycle
7. What a Team - [Windrush] - Salad...It Ain't Just Lettuce
8. The Four Winds - [Lones78] - The Most Dangerous Quiz Ever

Teams
5. 1-A - [Kankurette] - My Life as an Everton Supporter
6. The Leftovers - [ClaudiaCat] - Sydney Kings Jumping Ball

Quizzes ordered based on submission to the queue-- not by when they were placed online-- to reflect game standings.

For supplementary quizzes, try these:

Leg #6, Clue #1 - World Sites

Route Info

To start off the final leg of the race, make your way to the World category. Write a single quiz about World Sites (or in any of its subcategories) and the next clue is yours.

For this task, the choice is yours: who's ready to ride to the end?

-----------------

If you're ready to head to the end, then you probably know the best way to get there. For this task, your challenge is to write a quiz in the Transport subcategory of World. You may use any subcategory, but your quiz may not be about a single automobile or model of plane.

Leg #6, Clue #3 - 'Urban or Rural'

Detour

A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with their own pros and cons. Some Detour tasks may prove to be better options for teams depending on their strengths and weaknesses, but some choices may facilitate speedier or more creative results. Only one of these quizzes needs to be completed.

Now that you know where you're going, get moving to the Geography category. Your final Detour is a choice between:

-----------------

Urban – For this task, you must write about a single city. The catch is that that city must NOT have any quizzes already written specifically about it. Don't worry if another team claims your city. For this task, focus on the categories as they are. Remember: it must be in Geography.

Rural – Instead of looking at the cities of the world, for this task you need to write in either the Physical Geography or Polar Regions sections (or their subcategories). You may not write a match quiz for this option.

-----------------

Urban
2. The Rockettes - [Pagea] - Inverness - Capital of the Highlands
3. The Drop Bears - [1nn1] - Tallinn, Not Just Another Baltic City
4. The Leftovers - [Shadowmyst2004] - Dearborn
5. What a Team - [AcrylicInk] - Worcester: What Can You See?
6. The Four Winds - [JanIQ] - Breezing Through Athens

Rural
1. ALEC-24 - [Joepetz] - Islands of the Arctic and Antarctic
7. 1-A - [Apathy100] - Glaciers of North America
8. The Eggtetts - [Tiffanyram] - Capes Aren't Just for Flying!
9. 3 Yanks and a Brit - [PDAZ] - Reservoir Dogs... or Fish...

Quizzes ordered based on submission to the queue-- not by when they were placed online-- to reflect game standings.
