Subject: We Title Your Crosswords! - COMPLETE

Posted by: kyleisalive

Hello everyone!

I've gone to our Crossword editors and asked them some very EXTREME questions about potential challenges for our authors and amongst those possibilities was...this.

For this challenge, all you've gotta do is write a crossword using one of the titles below. Any section you wish. Under ideal circumstances, our editors would like to see some of the less-used categories, so let's say that only one of you can submit to General. First come, first serve.

You may claim more than one title, but only if your preceding one goes online.

Completed Titles:
Fly Me to the Moon - Mlcmlc
Post-Modern History - Pollucci19
Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes - Bernie73
Cruel and Unusual Words - CmdrK
Shiver Me Timbers - Windrush
Sacred and Secular - Windrush
Open Sesame - Creedy
Simulated Worlds - CmdrK
Horses of Note - Moonraker2
Spanish For Beginners - Triviaballer
Theme Park Rides - Moonraker2
All Things Unknown - Creedy

I'd normally say that The Unexplained, in General, would be the place for such a puzzle, but since you're trying to avoid General, I dunno.

I'd say it's open to interpretation. Maybe sci-fi movies or books, or mystery books or scientific discoveries or.... :)

One CW is allowed to be in General, so it's still a possibility.

They're difficult topics that are left. Couldn't they be a bit easier in future?

Like anyone is going to exclaim with delight over Post-Modern History or Simulated Worlds. I looked up the exact definition of Post-Modern etc and it says this:

"Postmodernism describes the political and aesthetic movements that exist as disciplinary, social, and narrative responses to the historical period defined as modernity. Previous, or modern, approaches characterize society as rational, stable, and well-ordered."

That was right before I fainted. Allllllthoughhh, could it be argued that post modern history is really the future?

Postmodern is an interesting aesthetic in art and humanities (including literature and film) and I think that topic could pop up in a handful of categories. Likewise, I see Simulated Worlds and I think VG, Literature (Sci-Fi), TV, and Movies (and thus Entertainment as well). It’s definitely niche but the options are there. We wanted a bit of challenge. ;)
