Subject: When Win10 "forgets" to hide a task bar

I've had this problem since I first migrated to windows 10. I've asked in Yahoo Answers, Quora, the Windows Help pages and to date no one has been able to give me a definitive answer...

Win 10 sometimes forgets to hid the task bar even though I have it set in my profile. Generally it works fine but if I open a full screen window in NetFlix or You-tube my computer sometimes gets confused and won't go back to hiding the task bar even when I close all of my browser windows (I use Firefox)

Checking the taskbar settings shows that it knows that it's supposed to but it just refuses. Even toggling the option off and then back on doesn't seem to help.

Rebooting doesn't guarantee that the "Hide Task Bar" option will be restored. Eventually repeated reboots have seemed to do the the trick.

Any suggestions? Other than switch to unix or another browser?

Windows products are often released full of bugs. That is part of the reason many discriminating computer users have preferred Apple products. You get what you pay for.

By the way, I do feel your pain. I had Windows Vista on my old computer. I learned a long time ago that when you buy a Chevy, you can't expect Mercedes performance or customer service. Windows is the biggest because for years it has been "good enough".

Looking for answers to problems with windows or Pcs etc, I wouldn't look at the sources you quoted. I'd ask in google. You can nearly always find some answer there or someone who's had the same problem and any solution they've found.
